The Mummy is a cool ESCO statue, with a body sculpt that really harkens back to the image of Imhotep as he rested within his coffin.
The facial sculpt is rife with the wrinkles that help depict the passage of time.
This statue is 17" tall.
Perhaps the most interesting thing about this one is the marking on the back of the base. It read "© ESCO PROD. 1982 TUN".
Other statues have been seen that are labeled "TUN" and the story that I've read online is that that is the name of a sculptor who worked at ESCO and signed his work and did some of his own characters in limited numbers. What makes the Mummy interesting is that this is the only one I have seen that is marked both "ESCO" and "TUN", lending credence to the notion that TUN statues are actually just a subset of ESCO's. In light of this, statues that are marked TUN not only have their own category here are CDX, but they will also be grouped along with ESCO in our manufacturer field.
