Dougram Sofubi Set

Review by JoshB
In my quest to get all the Takara Dougram toys, sometimes you have to take the bad with the good. Such is the case with this set of soft vinyls.
These vinyls were sold individually bagged, or in this two-pack. The box has some nice art, but the Takara logo is nowhere to be found on it. Perhaps even the maker was embarrassed to associate with them.
There isn't much to love about either of these toys. They are misshapen, poorly painted, and completely out of proportion.
The figure of the Dougram Combat armor is just fugly. The toy is not warped, it was actually molded that way. There's something clearly wrong with the waist.
The head is comically large.
I'm surprised this thing stands at all.
The Soltic fares a little better, but loses points for being half the size of the Dougram. It's like a toy of a toy that the Dougram plays with. A vinyl robot teddy bear.
" I shall hug him and pet him and call him George" said Dougram.
These are the things we collect.

3 comments postedHow did that HAPPEN with the Dougram's waist?! It looks like the plug connecting the torso to the legs is warped or halfway pulled out, but the fact that the waist still seems to turn would rule that out... It's like someone accidentally snapped the original sculpt in half while making the molds, and hurriedly shoved it back together...
I really like how the Soltic somehow has more silver paint than it needs to look right. You'd figure they would want to use less paint to save on manufacturing costs.
First of all, very nice review .... I liked much!
Second thing is as far to my knowledge, the manufacturer is not Takara. It's "Sekiguchi" (if it wasn't the owner, maybe it was employed/subcontracted by Takara to produce these sofubi)
