Hey, better late than never, right? This article covers random convention zaniness and our awesome trip to San Francisco!

SDCC07: Miscellaneous Toys!

As you've noticed, we've been pumping out articles highlighting the myriad toy companies representing at San Diego Comicon 2007 over the past couple weeks. Well, there were just too many toys to photograph from random stores and manufacturers, so we've decided to lump 'em all together in one article! Read on...

SDCC07: Toynami

All right, let's cut to the chase: if we're talking about Toynami, we're talking about Robotech toys--and in some instances, Voltron toys. Sure enough, Toynami had a lot to show off at Comicon, and we were there to cover the good stuff (read: NOT Naruto or Bleach).

SDCC07: Stikfas

The buzz around the Stikfas booth was the up-coming Evangelion figures, their first crack at licensed character toys...but the kids didn't seem to care! A box of random bits was there for everyone to cobble together their own unique figures from their imagination--the real appeal of these toys.

SDCC07: Super7

Venerable vinyl dealer and Japanese toy magazine publisher, Super7 was at the show to sell us stuff, hang out, and talk toy! Super7 headman and helluva guy, Brian Flynn, took time to chill with us at the show and in San Francisco, home of their storefront.

SDCC07: Sideshow

Oh my head, Sideshow was unstoppable at this show. I don't know if they actually took up more room than Mattel or Hasbro, area-wise, but in terms of sheer presence, they DOMINATED the Comicon landscape!

SDCC07: Organic Hobby

Our friends, Stephane and Masaki, greeted us warmly as they gave us the scoop on the big stuff coming soon from Organic Hobby. And guess what! It's not just Revoltechs!!

SDCC07: Onell Design

It pleases me to be writing an article about my buddies at Onell Design! We invited these friends of Josh's to this year's East Coast Chogokin Summit and since then, we've gotten tight with this group of local toy-makers!

SDCC07: Max Toy Company

Mark Nagata of Max Toy Co is a great guy and a pleasure to hang out with. We were understandibly tickled when we got the chance to spend some time him and his great family at Comicon and at their place in San Francisco!

SDCC07: Mezco Toyz

I was really pleased to see that Mezco had quite a respectable showing at Comicon this year. While not the size and grandeur of Hasbro or Mattel, Mezco Toyz is definitely no joke when it comes to quality items of lots of different popular properties.

SDCC07: Kaiju Big Battel

Words are inadequate to describe Kaiju Big Battel.

Luckily for you, I attempt to do so here! ;)

SDCC07: Gargamel

At this year's Comicon, Mason and I had the distinct pleasure of meeting (and throwing gobs and gobs of money at) the guys from Japanese vinyl kaiju maker, Gargamel! And, NO, we're not talking about the bane of all Smurfs!

SDCC07: Mattel

Well...Mattel was at SDCC, too.

*sigh* Naruto fans rejoice.

Hey, at least no one dropped dead at the show from lead poisoning! (goooh...too soon??)

SDCC07: Master Replicas

Wow...these guys sure know how to make some fancy products! Master Replicas showcased items from all over, including Star Trek, Star Wars (of course!), Marvel and DC Superheroes, and Muppets. Yes, you read that right: Muppets!

SDCC07: Kotobukiya

This year, Kotobukiya had a LOT to show us! Our pal, Frank, gave us the low-down on neat things to come...as well as some insider dirt!

SDCC07: Hasbro

And so it begins...SDCC 2007 Coverage on CDX!

First up: Hasbro. The ginormous movie Optimus Prime that greeted us at Botcon this year was on hand to say hello at Comicon. All eyes were on more movie TF merchandise, as well as Marvel Superheroes...including a particular red and gold-armored invincible Avenger...

SDCC07: Bif Bang Pow

C'mon...in today's rush of nostalgia and revisionist media, are you really surprised there's so much fanfare for the latest Universal Studios release of Flash Gordon!?
