The BZ-102 Cannon Spider is an arachnid type Zoid, part of the Zoids Z-Builders line. It barely qualifies as a Z-Builders toy, having only 2 BLOX.:

The BZ-102 Cannon Spider is an arachnid type Zoid, part of the Zoids Z-Builders line. It barely qualifies as a Z-Builders toy, having only 2 BLOX.

What grabbed me about this one was the design. You don't see too many spider Zoids, and the red and gray really appealed to me. A little research on the internet revealed that this Zoid was actually designed by Hasbro, without Tomy. The BZ-102 number was probably chosen to not interfere with the Japanese numbering scheme. Well, the boys at Hasbro did their homework, because I think it captures the Zoids design aesthetic perfectly.

Cannon Spider features a firing cannon with an electronic sound effect. The cannon is actually taken from Missile Tortoise, another Hasbro-designed Zoid. the missile actually fires a good distance, and you get an extra in case you lose it. The pilot can be removed from the cockpit and placed on the gun, but like all Zoids, he just kind of lays there - there's no peg to secure him.

Build time was pretty quick, maybe 20 minutes. The Cannon Spider is a Z-Builders kit so you still have to cut the parts off the sprue, trim the edges and assemble it. It comes with a decal sheet, but as usual, no guide to where the stickers go.

:

Wind them up and watch them go - That's what Zoids are all about. If
you're looking for a toy that you can actually pose or play with, you're
        looking in the wrong place.:

Zoids are more like model kits that walk. They are fun to build, and
neat to look at, but beyond that they get boring pretty quick.

Bear Fighter can walk while on all fours or while standing on its hind
legs. The rear gun pivots, the cockpit opens, the pilot is removable,
and the jaw opens. it comes with a sticker sheet and takes about an hour
to build. Bear fighter is recommended for ages 8 and up.

:

I have always liked the design of Zoids, but I never liked the fact
that you couldn't really do anything with them, They always seemed
fragile, more like models than toys.

Enter the Kadoh-oh (King of Flexible) Berserk Fuhrer. This toy features
an insanely articulated die cast and plastic frame. Even without the armor,
the toy is amazing. The joints are tight and stiff. See the plates on
        the neck? Each one moves.

The armor snaps on easily. I like the fact that the armor is not attached
to any kind of sprue, so there is no cutting involved. Just pop the armor
out of its tray and you're ready to go.

Once you put the armor, you lose a little articulation, but not much.
The arms get lost in all the armor plating though. The weapons system
features articulated claw-like weapons that can be moved into any number
        of positions.

This is an awesome figure. I like the fact that you can actually play
with it without fear of breaking it. The construction is so well thought
out. I accidentally popped a leg off while getting armor on, but the leg
just pops back in a socket.

Definitely cool.

:
