Bootleg Ultra Kaiju from Return of Ultraman

This is a bootleg of the Ultra Kaiju Bemustar (or Bamstar) made by Bandai.

Bemustar comes from the series “Return of Ultraman”, also known as Ultraman Jack.

The toy is a bootleg of #38 in the Ultra Kaiju series of Soft Vinyl figures. While the original is cast in a black vinyl, this one is cast in a light purple vinyl.

Quality is generally poor and the figure has no identifying marks.

Tyrant (タイラント) is a character in the Ultraman Villain Series of Ultra Kaiju. He appears in the 40th episode of Ultraman Taro (ウルトラマンタロウ) TV series, which aired from April 6, 1973 to April 5, 1974 and lasted 53 episodes. In episode 40, Tyrant defeats the 5 Ultra Brothers.

If I lived in Japan, my apartment would be littered with these things. for what you pay for them, they are an amazing value. All those high-dollar bullmark vinyls from the 70s? They started out like toys like this. FOR KIDS.

The sculpt is nice enough, and there is little articulation - just the arms and legs. This toy is perfect for little kids, or for dogs who want to use it as a chew toy. Recommended for ages 3 and up.

This is an Ultraman Villian from the series Ultraman Tiga.

The toy is supposed to have bright red horns, but this toy has seen better days.

It was a Japan-only release.

(Ultraman villians can be like Beanie Babies in the sense that they are move valuable with the tags).

There was a later 9" version of the character released in the USA.
