I'm a 37 year old Japanese toy nut.

My fascination with Japanese toys began in my youth growing up in Boston Mass. I would watch Voltron, Robotech, StarBlazers, Tranzor Z etc...

My favorite show I would watch was actually several different shows called Force Five on channel 25.

I would watch daily waiting to see the fabled Mr. Big Toyland commercial. Although I never actually went their my friends did. Growing up poor made me so jealous at all the cool toys that my friends got that I didn’t.

One year I made a X-mas request for a Shogun Warriors Gaiking and low and behold I got it. Unfortunately my brother broke the launching arm the very same day. That was way back in 1980. I loved the hell out of that toy and always wanted another.

Lets fast forward to March 2001. At work I herniated 2 disks in my lower back and was out of work with an injury. At this time my younger cousin showed me the joys of ebay.

I soon realized that allot of people were selling Shogun Warriors/Jumbo Machinder’s. Now I could reclaim my beloved Gaiking as well as all the other toys that I wanted.

As I started buying Jumbo's I noticed alot were missing parts and stickers so I started to mold new parts and design stickers. I did this for a while but soon tired of it.

I now basically collect Bandai's Soul of Chogokins and other modern Gokin's that catch my fancy.

I'm a cute Tuxedo Cat who started collecting Japanese Die-cast Robot Toys in the last quarter of 2006. I collect a variety of Japanese toy robots that I did not have growing up as a child. Now that I'm a grown up and have a steady income, I have lots of fun collecting one of my childhood obsessions.

Here is a small breakdown of some of the items in my collection. SOC, they are probably the most prized of all the my toys as well as best made in my opinion. Gaiking, Getta Robo and Evangelion to name a few.

Godzilla Vinlys a few from old to latest films. Akira toys and all time favorite manga. Others... all Japanese of course, include Gundam Models, Zoids, Macross/Robotech, Anime Figures & Transformers: Hasbro and Takara reissues.

I'm about 30 and still watch old-school Anime. Sad, yes but I'm probably not much different from most people on this site. I actually have a _working_ Laser Disc player and a few disks:

* Macross DYRL LD (import, from the 15th anniversary I think) manufactured by Shogakukan
* Bubble Gum Crisis, Volumes 1,3 and 4 (the domestic AnimEigo release)
* Project A-ko (yes it had a domestic LD release)
* Yamato 2520 Vol.0 (Import, a blind purchase - one I kinda regret)
* Galaxy Express 999 Eternal Fantasy (Import)

I do a podcast about movies and cartoons and comics and other stuff like that primarily covering stuff from 1980-present. I live up in Humboldt County where I'm a freelance commerical maker, independent movie guy, and pseudo-film student at Humboldt State University.

Back in May, my father passed away after a long battle with cancer (no worries - not a plea for pity). Since this is the first holiday season without him, I found myself reflecting back to earlier times in my life... including my love for giant !@#$ing robots (specifically, robotech/macross/super dimensional cavalry southern cross/mospeada). I happened across this site while looking for toys from my youth, and found myself, for the first time in my adult life, a toy collector.

I'm a big collector of Spawn and Neon Genesis Evangelion. I also collect monster action figures like Pumpkinhead and Michael (from Species 2). I've been collecting since about 2000. Some people think it's weird especially since I'm a girl but I just like the way they look. I'm not entirely sure why or how I started collecting but I think a lot of it has to do with finding figures that look interesting. There's just something that seems to draw me to the stuff I buy but I can't quite put my finger on it.

I collect Japanese Diecast, old and new. I started when very young in the Bay Area NCal, and haven't been able to stop. Ever since I picked up a heavy ass piece of zinc that shoots missiles, I was hooked. Big Shogun Warriors were cool, but my little Bullmarks weighed more than them and would always kick ass.

I live in Naples FL with my husband, Shogundan. We have been married for 4 years and have a fun marriage. I like to paint, play with toys, ride horses, and take care of my two dogs. I got into Japanese toys when I met Dan. The only toy he had left from his divorce was Garada K7,the rest he sold. So I systematically started him collecting again. Now we have a good sized collection and my husband and I are part owners of CollectinDX!
