Valid votes?

This is what I have a real hard time with... how can anyone vote for the BEST from a list of items if they do not have all those items themselves - or at a minimum handled all the items on the list. I'm guilty as charged, but that does not make it any better. Whatever, right?... it doesn't matter anyway since people will most likely vote for their favorite gokin based on the character or the anime they loved the most as kids (or adults).

Anyway, my vote goes for the Super Robot Chogokin Mazinger Z. Excellent sculpt, articulation, paintjob, heft, and the price is not too shabby either. Add the Weapons Pack (including the upcoming Weapons Pack 2) and there is nothing that can come close to this awesome little chogokin.

Peace

I'm looking at it like this..

...before I buy something I read these reviews and decide if it is something I want to buy. I wouldn't buy something that I didn't like. So, if I can afford to, I buy my favorites or at least the ones that I would like. Surely my opinion would change once I've actually handled it, but I can make a reasonable decision based on photographs and descriptions. Does this make sense?

Hands down...

...the Space Battleship Yamato.

I'm kinda surprised it's almost tied with Mazinger-Z.

I got the feeling that most "gokin" fans hated that the Yamato was released in the SOC lineup.

Thankfully. I'm NOT one of the them.

SRC series in general have

SRC series in general have all been really awesome. For me, I gotta love the Alteisen as a Super Robot Wars fan.

Kool Aid Spiking

I have valid opinions about many things I've never touched. Enjoy the now even more delicious Kool-Aid.

No need to be a troll about it

How about you tell us what you voted for and not be a complete troll about it? Since your all full of opinions and stuff...

So sorry...

...I guess that did come out surly, didn't it. But, I was referring to what The Big R said, which I didn't think sounded very nice. Atom, was what he said any cooler than what I said? Please explain.

Anyways, after reading all of the fabulous and thorough reviews, I picked Raideen. Difficult choice for me between him and Mazinger Z.

I actually own

I own what I vote for, or at least have touched with my own two hands. Don't vote for something just because the wrapper's pretty. If you're voting for something that you a) don't own, or b) haven't even handled in person, you're just spiking the Kool-Aid for everyone else.

Super Robot Chogokin Mazinger Z is the best. Yamato comes a close second. Saying otherwise is lying to yourself. A lot of good stuff on this list, but these are the only two anyone is going to care about four years from now. This year's list just seems full of no-brainers to me.

Heh

Had to go with Godom, if only because it's the only Gokin I bought this year.

While I didn't get any of

While I didn't get any of these, Tobikage with Houraioh wins for me because I like the styled look of Tobikage plus the birdy is really cool.

Had to go with Gordion, while the Daitarn 3 and Tobikage SoCs are awesome, the cool funk and old junk of Gordian is something that has always been a symbol of that era of gokin.

ahhhh yes Gordian, If you

ahhhh yes Gordian, If you couldn't tell from my review, I enjoyed that release VERY much. I don't really hear many people talk about it and I assume there aren't too many people with this in their collection because of its price and thats a shame, but it does have that certain funk to it, starting from the second you pull out a seeminlgy endless styro tray. I keep teetering between a few releases so I may need to pull them out to make a decision.
