In 2002 NECA reissued the classic Tomy Red and Yellow cycles, along with a previously unreleased Blue Light Cycle from the movie Tron. Each Light Cycle came with a figure and ripcord.

The cycles were identical to their Tomy counterparts. The only difference I can find is the copyright mark. The figures issued were of a lesser quality than the originals '“ the molds are not as sharp, and the plastic is not as glossy or bright. The cycle and figure are from new molds, not old Tomy molds.

There were 10,000 of each figure produced and 5,000 of each Light Cycle produced. A prototype of an orange Light Cycle was made, but the toy never made it to production.

The blue Light Cycle comes with a Flynn figure and disc weapon.
