The GT-06B Black Raideen figure was released during the THE CHOGOKIN expo at the Laforet museum in Harajuku, Tokyo, Japan from April 2nd until May 5th 2004. Black Raideen was sold for ¥1,890 as a show exclusive. It will see a limited release later in the year to the Japanese, only through Bandai's Lalabit Market.

It is an exact replica of the original Black Version GA-09. In 1978, Popy issued an extremely limited Black version of the GA-09, which has become very expensive over the years. It came out three years after the original, and was sold in limited quantities and intended for older fans. Today the original Black Raideen can cost over $2000, so the GT-06B is an affordable way to get your hands on a smaller version.
