Well, for one, the face looks like Asuka's; that's a big part of it. The second is that this figure does not detract or change what Asuka is in the series. (About the only add-on I dislike are the high heels. -_-;) The third is how they incorporated the headset and gun from the series- familiar, but not straight copies or brand new blah-blah-blah.
It's artsy, certainly, but it stays within the realm of the series to a degree, that that helps a lot for my approval.

So, even though I don't collect figures (the merging of materials used with details at this scale bugs me a lot), this is a good representation of a grown-up Asuka if she stayed an EVA pilot beyond 14yrs.

EDIT: Oh, yeah... BTW, I'm back, bitches! ^_^

This TOTALLY makes up for all 978,682,091 different figure releases I've had media-blitzed into my eye sockets for the past, what, 10 years?

Doesn't look like Asuka to me, but it does look like all kinds of awesome, even if there is high heels.
