This model looks awesome, to say the least. Can't wait for the Destroid Spartan and Destroid Monster from Yamato!!!!

When it comes to Super Robots or Macross, Yamato is doing a great job!

Long live the fierce legend of Super Robots.

Expect the Phalanx next since it uses the legs the other two use. A Spartan could happen, if these do well, but a 1/60 Monster is never going to happen.

I second the dis on the Monster; not gonna happen at 1/60, and certainly not for under $100 + S&H!

However, I am greedily drooling for a Spartan... }:) Followed close by this, and then ending with the Tomahawk. The Phalanx, eh- maybe...

. . .

BTW, the Defender was the basis for the Inner Sphere's JagerMech fire-support BattleMech from the Battletech universe; though the latter only carried four long-range Light AutoCannons and back-up short-range Lasers.

. . .

Question: I always thought the Defender used micro-missiles launchers in the shoulders as a back-up for the laser cannons? And what's up with the extended shoulder/missile covers on the third picture from the top?

If it's anything like the Armored Valkyrie, then then small boxes on the outside thighs open up and launch missiles.

The things in the third picture look like high-capacity ammunition "cans". I don't think those were in the original design, but then this guy is a bit boring compared to the other Destroids; "whoo look at me, I can flail my arms up and down!" I suppose Yamato had to exercise some creativity to justify the price.
