Soul of Chogokin GX-31V Voltes-V "Respect for Volt in Box" version
Bandai announces another version of the SOC Voltes, this time a nod to the classic chogokin. One noticable omission to the SOC Voltes was the addition of the tank mode. While not seen in the anime, it was possible with the DX VOLT IN BOX toy.
Come December, Bandai is reissuing the GX-31 with new paint, accessories, and now Voltes will have the ability to do tank mode.
Due December for 18,690 yen.

Well, that's around $10USD more than the original release, so that's cool. If they happen to do something to reinforce the joints, I'll consider this. The original was a bit too floppy for my tastes. I doubt they'll touch the joint design though... :/
What we really need is a straight reissue of the original DX chogokin! I'd pay top dollar for that!
Oh, the original ST chogokin could do the tank mode, too, by the way...

Oh noooooo!
What a waste of material, money and time!
Why not a Soul of Chogokin Albegas or Daitan 3 or Daltanious or Trider G7 instead of this heresy.
The tank mode is for Combattler V NOT Voltus V!
If it is not seen in the anime, which it isn't (I just finished watching Voltes V on DVD today), I will simply not buy it.
Stop wasting material BANDAI and give us super robot fans what we truly love.
The existing SOC Voltes V, in my opinion, is already perfect the way it is. So why, Bandai?
I agree with Sanjeev about the reissue of the Chogokin Volt in Box, it would be a dream come true as would a Tetsujin reissue. But it's different with modern toys. Sometimes i think bandai just beats about the bush. We will soon see a repaint of the repaint. Which will make the piece i have bought a few years back for a good wad look like a bunch of crap. The quality is great on the original GX-31, i have no doubts about that, and really i didn't think it needed any improvements except for the flimsy joints.
Now with regards to new products, i mean genuinely new, why do we always have to spend more money on improved products ? Why dosen't the manufacturer just issue a final study ? And that's that. And yes, we need more classic robots. The SOC success was due to the shortage of quality toys and the demand by classic robot junkies like all of us. The forthcoming issue of 'new' robots from Superrobotwars does not tickle me in the least way. I don't think they deserve their place in the pantheon of chogokin. The classic robots were something else. We loved the anime's in our childhood now we want the robots on our shelves, that's what this hobby is all about to me. I just wish bandai would stop issuing repaints and reissues, and give us what we really want, and the list is endless. Daltanious, Daitarn 3, Trider G7, Danguard, maybe Astroboy and loads more.
As far I understand, there are two different version of GX-31 and GX-31V for Voltes V.
Which verstion shall I buy to keep it for the future value with my limited budget?
Additionally, which online shopping web site should be perfect to buy this Voltes V robot?
