Brave Gokin 17 Gakeen

Sometimes I want to go up to CM's and give them a slap and say, "Stop it, this is getting silly"

I mean, Gakeen?

From what I've seen, I think the only metal is in the shiny gold parts, and the crome ball joints. Yeah, it comes with a bunch of cool accessories, and a funky car, but I'm just not feeling it.

Who am I kidding, I'll probably end up with it anyway.

Due September '08 - for a paltry 24,990 yen. Go nuts.

I want to know what they were smoking...

but in the 5th pic it looks like those arm blade things might transform into smaller robots... might be cool

No one was smoking anything except maybe plain cigarettes. and yes CM's Gakeen is another winner for this year. The robot looks exactly as if the anime mecha has become alive three-dimensionally, accessories included. Most probably this show was never aired in the States.

Yeah Blitz, those arm weapons do turn into the tinier white and red robots.
The pricetag kills me, too.
Doesn't look half bad, though.

I don't know exactly why, but I actually have a bit of a soft spot for Gakeen. This toy looks to have plenty of play value, but again, at too high a price. Especially when you consider that the box will probably be huge and therefore shipping expensive. Is there another super robot that can pilot a vehicle like that?

The toy is exqusite but the price tag is somewhat high for a plastic robot. I tend to prefer the normal colour version (yellow spay instead of gold)if it will have the same accessories. So I'll double check before forking out my hard-earned cash.

CM's is quite simply the best when it comes to vintage super robots or at least on a par with Bandai. They have the masterpiece touch to them and still keep their toy playability element. At least thats how it is with the robots which make you risk breaking a wrist with their metal content. Now this is almost all plastic, but looks gorgeous though I never liked gold parts either. They get so ugly with time. And so close to the 'real'thing... Well I'll wait a bit, the prices will fall as they did for Goshogun, Sankhan-Oh and Gyakuten-Oh and get a good deal on it next year after christmas no worries...
