Well here is a cool thing. High Dream Corporation has announced that they are producing a line of 8" fully transformable diecast toys from the 1977 anime Super Combination Magical Robo Gingaizer. How is that for obscure? Based on the prototype pictures though they look really great. The toys will be sold as a set, and will be released early 2009.

High Dream chose the series for two main reasons, namely: I will also dare to give three more reasons: 1. All super robots should be released using today's modern technology in toy manufacturing. And finally....drums.... I will definitely contact them to check whether they intend to release the Takemi BLOCKER GUNDAN MACHINE BLASTER as well. Yatta!!!!  "3. Remember that High Dream releases toys that are popular in Europe. Hence the choice of Ginguiser." Oh, ok! This makes a lot more sense then.  i think Gingaizer is a very obscure series, one must remember that most series in Japan were made in the 70's to promote toys not vice versa. However the toys look great. And High Dream (which works close with marmit) has been releasing plenty of goodies for fans of grendizer and mazinger which do seem to go a bit unnoticed but the quality is great and the price too. they have just released the TFO from Grendizer and it looks even better than the popy one... So please keep rocking high dream... The TFO is manufactured using today's modern technology and so the toy is very accurate and of the exact shape and shade of colour unlike the old Popy offering. Remember that High Dream also released the cockpit of Grendizer or Duke Pit. The guys at High Dream also assured me that a Duke Buggy is on the way, too! Yatta!!!!  Maybe it's just me, but why I have this feeling that the truck splits into all three mechas? Answering the question of selecting this very series. Well, duh? Because nobody else did it before? I mean how many times can you stand a toy from a series that was done before multiple times... It's like with the Yattodettoman mecha- it was rare toy to see and therefore was a better choice to manufacture than Mazinger or Grendizer that already had dozens of releases. Yes, it's just you. LoL. The three robots change into the following mechas: GRAN FIGHTER - RED TRUCK (ACE OF SPADES) The Heart is reserved to the girl pilot. The surplus items form the jet fighter. The three robots combine to attack the alien monster. The director is Kuri Ippei-kami-sama. I'm sure Gingaizer's fan is thrilled with the news, but I can't help wondering why High Dream chose the series.
Then again, as long it's a good toy it doesn't matter who it's of.
