Ok, I know I said I was down on modern diecasts, but I may have to get this. I mean, I just can't say no to Dangard Ace. Although the hands look kind of weird. But the launching missile display is cool and I like how they've incorporated the Dangard icon into the stand.

TPE (ThermoPlastic Elastomer) is listed in the materials used for construction. It's got some good properties for a toy in terms of durability, and the now required recyclable applications, but it's expensive.

So when debating if it's too expensive, keep in mind the production cost of materials compared to profits.

This will be my first of this line, but after seeing reviews of Groizer and Braigar, I'm looking forward to a decent toy that won't be an SoC anytime soon.

Yup, the closed-fist hands looked weird, but still, I'm so getting this. And if only bandai or yamato or anybody can do mekanda, my search would finally be over.

Wow! Dangard Ace after all this time. It's cool but the price... But Duke has idea why the price tag being so high. I guess it's acceptable.

If you're going to start arguing reasons for high costs, TPE probably isn't a good place to do it, as its properties put it only as being useful for the rubber bushings in the joint work on a figure, and at the amount being used in any given figure you're probably looking at pennies of increase in cost vs. other rubbers. Price is dictated more than anything else by quantity produced anyway, less so by materials.

... Still, nobody should ever be surprised about price levels from Yamato products.

Granted, TPE should mean that there'll be a lot less wiggle room and more consistency in the stiffness of joints and it should take a lot longer to wear them down, so that's good. My main interest is how much part necrosis will be needed to transform it. The Braiger and Grozier were pretty neat releases, but the "debris field" as Josh so eloquently put it involved with each is a bit off-putting.

I have been waiting for so long for a modern upgrading of old Dangard. An absolute MUST buy for me! Not even Kommissar Krell could stop me from buying this!

the website listed out ABS , PVC , POM , TPE I know what three of them are and they are all kinds of plastic, is the last one = metal? I want to preorder this thing if it has as much metal as groizer, the other one, the car one you reviewed that was all plastic, ..if it is like that I need to pass.
thanks
