I think the strings are 2 different pieces, and don't need to be threaded. The strings are molded plastic in the front.

Waste of plastic. If the shoulder armor and the back of the legs had been done differently, I might have considered it.

Actually, I thought it was funny that Prime here and Megs had feet that were shaped like their own disguise mode. Question: are the shoestrings one piece, and do they need to be threaded each time you change [them]?

Actually, this reminds me of that spoof on the Simpsons where they had the robot that transformed into one of those stupid wind up feet toys. I couldn't find a clip of it, but hopefully you remember what I mean...
