So what happened?Submitted by JoshB on 25 September, 2007 - 08:21.
So what happened? Well, here is the story. The CollectionDX.com domain expired on 8/22. I got the notices that the expiration was coming, but I had my domains set up to auto-renew, so I didn’t worry about it. 8/22 passed and the domain was still up, so I figured everything went as planned. But what really happened is that my credit card had expired, and the domain company never notified me. They allow a 30 day grace period after your domain expires, and then it goes into a “Redemption Period”. In this Redemption Period, your domain is down, but held for a period of time before being released back into the pool. To get your domain back, you have to pay a fee of $150! I immediately faxed the form back to the domain people on 9/22, but they said it could take up to 72 hours to restore the domain, which is where we are now. Obviously it is back, or you would not be reading this. Moral of the story – don’t assume anything when it comes to your domains. More:

i guess that's why they kept on saying that assumption is the mother of all F--kups... oh well... it's not like it's such a bad thing anyway, i have lots of collectionDX pages saved on my hard drive.
life needs to be bittersweet;
you work the sweet side, and i'll manage to embitter it.
