Inju SanrantaiWe finally have a name to those tentacle monsters - Inju Sanrantai. This figure is made by Toys Works and is 1/8 scale (10cm x 25cm) made out of PVC. Due late November for 3,800¥, available in Hot Pink and dark violet versions. Toy Works makes it a point to mention that the girl figure is not included.

 I really just put the tentacle monster news up for Vincent. ------------------------------  HILARIOUS!  ...wow. that tenticle monster's pictures are so wrong in so many ways.  ...yeah- I'm still trying to decide of that's an elephant's trunk or a phallus on the back side there. Ugly creature, that.  I think the black version is going to be called "Soundblaster" just like the G1 remold of Soundwave. Don't quote me on that, though. Heavyarms  Shockwave is a big purple space gun. Why would a Soundwave recolor be called Shockwave? Soundblaster is probably right considering that was the name of the upgraded Soundwave in Headmasters that was essentially the same toy, only black and with a bigger chest that could hold two tapes instead of just one. I thought that Laserwave was the purple bot that changed into a gun? Anyways, I know there's a character who's a Soundwave-repaint that's primarily black, but I couldn't think of his name since I don't know G1/G2 well at all. Laserwave is just Shockwave's name in Japan. Big purple space gun with one eye and a rather phallic gun hand on one side. In recent years, Hasbro didn't have the trademark and changed Shockwave to Shockblast. All the same guy, not at all a black tape player. And Soundblaster is the the black Soundwave with a bigger tape deck, as previously mentioned.  that tentacle monster set would be a great attention grabber for guests. I can see it now |

Ok...well, starting from the top works... SHE's Gaiking? Ummm...are you kidding? $300US for a 6-inch figure? Sure, it performs the gattai and even combines with one of the supporting ships from the new cartoon...but with CM's Corp's Gaiking that actually gattai's with Vulking, Raiking, Sleepy, and Doc, is there really a choice here?
Unless, of course, SHE's planning on making those supporting 'bots as well (with full-gattai capability). We'll see... (Incidentally, I like the sculpt on SHE's better than CM's Corp's...that crackly stonework look kinda bothers me...)
Next up, Dancouga, huh? Well, interesting update on Dancouga's look (this is my first time seeing Nova). I prefer the old one. And Romando sucks. Anyone ever handle their plastic 20cm (8-inch) Mazinkaiser? Utter garbage. Worse than a MSiA.

Music Label Soundwave. Not really interested, but the guys at ReproLabels put out a hot G1 sticker set for this toy! Those guys really amaze me!
Aoshima Shin Getter 2!? WHO KNEW??? Killer...didn't think they'd bother with any of the "other two 'bots". Here's to a Shin Getter 3 someday! (for now, I'll pray for sturdy elbow and knee joints on #2's design)
