Macross Revoltech?

This scan found on 2ch this morning shows a prototype Revoltech VF-1J from Kaiyodo.

This shouldn't be suprising, considering the main man behind revoltech, Katsuhisa Ymaguchi, had done the sculpting for Kaiyodo's poseable Macross trading figures a few years ago. One would assume, if this one comes out, then a flood of Macross revoltech's will follow (similar to the Revoltech Evas).

So this begs the question - will we see these stateside? Will they be re-branded Robotech? Only time will tell.

Man, I would be so incredibly excited to see this. Ever since the Revoltech line came out, I have secretly been hoping they would do Robotech. I think that the mecha designs would translate really well to the Revoltech system. The thought of some really cool Valkyrie's, Zentradie battle pods, and Cyclone's is pretty amazing, not to mention all of the other possibilities. I just hopt that they do as good a job with covering the Macross/Robotech universe as they did with Evangelion.

I have to say, I have been incredibly impressed with the license diversity that the Revoltech line has shown to date (not to mention the way they get regular releases out). I don't have every figure, but I have 98% of what has been released so far. The combination of price, articulation, character selection, and quality has made these one of my all time favorite lines.

I hope they do an armored Valkyrie, personally. Oh how much that would rock.

There's a thread over on the Revoltech Collectors Nation message board concerning this with more detailed pictures...

Thread In Question

I've already pre-ordered one from ebay and hopefully they'll release the rest of the Valkyries, particularly the VF-1S...

I would have submitted this as news but i don't know how you do that and if it would have been news worthy...
