AV-98 Ingram 2
The Revoltech AV-98 Ingram 2 comes from the anime series Mobile Police Patlabor (機動警察パトレイバー, Kidō keisatsu patoreibā) a manga franchise created by Masami Yūki. The term Patlabor is a mash-up of Patrol and Labor. Revoltech Series #14 Real Robo Type Ingram 2 This is the second Patlabor figure in the Revoltech series, the first being the AV-98 Ingram 1. The figures are definitely similar, but have subtle differences, such as weapons and a different head sculpt. The figure has a very industrial feel to it, right down to the license plate on the torso. In the Patlabor universe, Labors are used in every facet of society, much like today’s heavy equipment. The Mobile Police are there to deal with crimes dealing with other labors. The badge on the chest, light bars on the shoulders and riot shield all add to the police motif. The figure is true to the Revoltech name with a ton of Revoltech joints and insane articulation. The Revoltech Joints are located in the neck (2), elbows, waist, knees and ankles. The rest are standard monoshaft joints. It is interesting to note that due to the size of the hands, there are no Revoltech joints in the wrists. I think I actually prefer this, as the Revoltech hands are hard to change sometimes. Included accessories are 4 optional hands, a hand holding the 37mm revolver cannon (pistol), a hand holding the 90mm riot cannon (Shotgun), and 2 anti-labor stun sticks. The short stick is meant to be inserted in the hole behind the riot shield, and is for display purposes. The longer stick is the actual weapon. In addition, Kaiyodo included a second set of antennae, in case yours get broken or lost. A Revoltech stand is included with the name printed on the bottom, but it is the one piece stand (the second part is used for figures that can fly). This is a typically excellent Revoltech release. If you have the Ingram 01 you need the 02 to complete the set. If you don’t have the 01, then what are you waiting for?
