12 comments postedOh man. I will probably pick this up and put it right into my stack of models that won't ever get built because I can't do them justice.
I mean, who would want to build this *without* light-up features?
Does anyone else know this was originally a military vehicle called the Tumbler?
There's a 1/1-scale replica- with functional interior lights!- at the Science-Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame at the Seattle Center in Seattle, WA. When the museum first opened it was at eye level and you could look right in (NO TOUCHING), but after a major remodel a few years afterwords, you can only look at it from below now. However, there's a platform about 60' away on the opposite wall with a display monitor and you can control a live camera mounted inside above/between the seats and look around!
I think it may be an actual prop vehicle from the movie's production, not a scratch-built replica made just for Paul Alle-- uhh, the museum.
Tumbler? huh?
Yes, Paul Allen bought the 'Flying' Spinner (the 'hero' prop). And yes its on display at the Science-Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame at the Seattle Center in Seattle, WA.

Ever heard of "Batman Begins"...?
I am stunned I'm not getting more LoLs- or even groans- out of my joke... Seriously, how can people miss what I said!?.
I figured you were trying to make some sort of joke. Don't go into stand-up.
Hey didn't Iron Maiden pose against the Spinner in a photo of their Caught Somewhere in time album? I think they did but can't find album...hehe album. I have an interest in picking this up and doing it up since my Ultraman MAT is coming along great. Would love to review the finished product here and after gettin LED action on my masterpiece rodimus, I'm gonna deck it out in LEDs too.
There's a photo of the band with the prop. The cover art is also a Blade Runner theme, complete with the taxi that JF Sebastian drives (although it's full of references to Iron Maiden songs from previous albums.)
All the more reason for me to wanna build this! My plans are to install LEDs into it and give it a nice automotive style paint job.
There is a toy of the Spinner! It's big too...Like G.I. Joe size (about 1/18 scale)! Been out for like a year almost.
