Transformers Masterpiece MP-12G Generation 2 Sideswipe
This is not your father's Autobot! Here's the Masterpiece Sideswipe repaint many of us have been waiting for, it's Generation 2 Sideswipe! This high end version of the original toy's repaint hails from the Generation 2 relaunch from back in the early 90's. This version of Sideswipe even has some 90's-tastic huge guns, a random sword, and a pair of plug in spiked shoulder tires to make the toy resemble the gritty artwork of the Transformers Generation 2 comic book. It's Derek Yaniger-licious! It will even include a set of stickers to make it more like the G2 toy! Coming in 2014 for around 5,800 yen.

i guess after prime and bee, they found another figure to squeeze some dollars more.
Honestly, its money well squeezed if they can keep the price manageable. To be fair to the rest, Three seems to be the lucky number for all of the MP molds but they always manage a 4th or 5th somewhere. The Seeker, Sideswipes (Red Alert, G2 Swipe and Tiger Tracks) and soon Prowl, Smokescreen, and Bluestreak.
Maybe next after Soundwave becomes Soundblaster we'll get "NEW Soundwave" (Fandub joke).
That dub.....wasn't a fandub actually. It was offically produced by the guys who did the english dubs of the 90's godzilla films and Macross: DYRL
I did not know that...
You're welcome. The dubs were hilarious thoughxD
for what it's worth this was a Hong Kong newspaper article about Omni Productions (the companies name).

Is it milking the mold when you are remaking actual figures? Since these guys (Tigertrack, Red Alert, G2 SS) all existed I would say they are all fair game to recreate. When they start making new figures with the mold I would consider that milking it. For example I would say Acid Storm is milking the mold.
I am confused by the fact that Takara does remake and remodel so frequently to stay profitable but Bandai can put out God Mars with die cast etc. and not re-release for 6 years? How does that work how does Bamdai consistently have better products, models and better price points. I would love to see Bandai take a swing at a TF figure.
