Master Grade RX-78-2 Gundam (The Origin Version)

This Master Grade model kit represents the famous RX-78-2 Gundam, as it appears in the manga and anime series, Gundam: The Origin. This redesign features new weaponry like a shoulder mounted cannon, chest mounted vulcan cannons, and a prototype beam rifle. It also includes the standards like a normal beam rifle, a hyper bazooka, a shield, and beam sabers. The chest guns, chest missiles, and shoulder cannon will also have blast effect parts. Coming November 2015 for 4,500 yen.

New "Classic" Gundam

I like this redign of the original RX-78, except for the feet, which are always blocky wedge shaped.

It's sholuder mounted "Predator" cannon gives it cool look.

Mmmm, I like these feet.

Mmmm, I like these feet. Usually they're chunky and blocky but these are thinner and longer and feel more organic. That first shot really showcases how they complement the contours of the rest of the model

Next "Version"

I'm curious to know how much of this kit is made with parts from the older models. It's like an unwritten tradition with RX-78. (Version OYW > skeletal legs from Version 1.5 , Version 3.0 > weapons and Core Fighter from Version 2.0)

The armor's completely new, and the proportions are a bit mixed in the sense it has a narrow frame with a robust chest like Okawara's art style which is perfect!

But I'm curious to know what's inside, to me it looks like they're combining the Version 2.0 and Version 3.0 frame. I'm looking at the shoulder design (V3.0) and elbow joint (V2.0). The obvious hands are it uses the MP-1 set which is always exciting.

I really like the floating knee armor, No other RX-78 has that!

Based on the design of the one from Origin, I think it's going to have a unique Core Fighter which would also explain why the chest seems so big.

Still, I'm totally intrigued and waiting for this one!
Now Bandai.. where's my Ver. Origin Gouf? (In Master Grade).
