From the look of these photos, it seems that the final product will be capable of switching between Hot Rod's sports car alt mode and Rodimus Prime truck mode. That's something really awesome.
The only thing that doesn't look right is the wheel size. Just like the Masterpiece Optimus Prime, Rodimus wheels look way too small for the vehicle's size.
Despite that fact, it still looks good.
The wheels in the truck mode look the same size relative to the truck as they did on the '80s toy if you ask me. http://www.collectiondx.com/review/transforming_toy/rodimus_prime_reissue
Did you guys noticed the base of the stand's got a Matrix of Leadership designed on top it? I gotta feeling that it's gonna do more than having Rodimus pose on there. Still, I wonder if it's gonna come with The Matrix itself.
So apparently his Hot Rod and Rodimus robot modes are considered separate. Only difference I can see is his face is older in one, I think he gets bags under his eyes. Those wheels do look tiny now that you mention it. I think the Classics or even Animated are more stylish iterations of the character. He's just sort of dull.
