Transformers Age of Extinction Optimus Prime Dual Model Kit
TakaraTomy is releasing another Dual Model Kit of a movie-verse Transformers. This time it's Optimus Prime as he appeared in the latter half of Age of Extinction. Like the previous Dual Model Kits, this Optimus has a completed internal skeleton that armor pieces are assembled onto. He comes with his sword and shield. Does not transform. Coming December 2014 for 9,800 yen.

I was really impressed with the DMK1 save for the whole "strip down the head to use both faces" act and its problematic 'metal plastic syndrome.' This kit looks like they found a balance between gimmick and details.
It looks like they're using the same inner frame as the first model, and seems like there's more painting work involved this time around for the more finite details. I'm also seeing fixed pose hands, look at the fingers of the open palm: no visible joints.
It looks good but the first one looks so convincing as the movie character, this one looks more like a toy. Something about the colors seems off.
The problem with the colors is that it just needs more. There's more gold accents in the chest of the on-screen model and a few other areas. Small spots yes, but together they make a difference.
