Soul of Chogokin Arcadia from Captain Harlock Updated

Here is a new picture of the upcoming Soul of Chogokin Arcadia based on the world famous ship's appearance in the film Arcadia of My Youth and the second TV series. Much like thier Yamato toys, the Arcadia will come with a special base and remote control that will play three BGM tracks from the series and produce five sound effects. It also has rotating turrets and LED lights for the bridge and engines. The Arcadia is 47 centimeters long. You even get an in-scale Galaxy Express 999! Coming October 2014 for 28,000 yen.

Bluefin Tamashii has given us information about the stateside release:

The Battleship Arcadia is taking off on an adventure, not into deep space, but into your home! From Galaxy Express 999, Soul of Chogokin welcomes Captain Harlock’s Space Pirate Battleship Arcadia to its line-up. Complete supervision of the design was carried out by original author Matsumoto Reiji and Toei Animation. Strategic parts are made with die-cast for added authenticity. In further pursuit of Arcadia’s perfect form, extreme attention is paid to the original mechanical design of Miyatake Kazuki’s skull mark on the hull and bow. Use the included remote to control light and sound (background music x3, sound effects x5). Arcadia even makes the sounds of an engine starting when turned on. Set comes with display stand, Galaxy Express mini figure and mini stand.  Coming November 2014 for $275.99.

You can preorder the Arcadia at Big Bad Toy Store.

I like the way it looks, but

I like the way it looks, but considering how much the Space Battleship Yamato went for, I'm not sure I'm willing to plop $200 on a completely static spaceship, even if it has light and sounds and it belongs to Captain Harlock himself.

On a side note, what is that big Turn A Gundam in the background? Another large Metal figure to accompany that Turn X prototype? No matter what, I'm interested.

Goddamn that's gorgeous. It

Goddamn that's gorgeous.

It probably won't have the die cast content of the Aoshima, but it's bound to be bigger with a better sculpt!

Now I'm wondering what those

Now I'm wondering what those three BGMs are.

I hope the instrumental version of the SSX ED is one of them.
