Transformers Q&A answers for Q2 2009

A while back we submitted answers to the Hasbro Transformers Q&A. Essentially, they forgot about us. But here are the questions and answers, better late than never.

Q: We've seen samples that Springer has been reinvented for the movie. Are there plans to recreate his G1/IDW-verse form in the later Universe line, and if so what scale?

A: Unfortunately not at this time.

Q: Will Masterpiece Starscream is going to be re-issue? Any change in plans with Masterpiece Grimlock?

A: For the Masterpiece series, we certainly understand that there is a strong following and desire for this specific product line. As a result, we will continue to look for opportunities to offer specific characters when it makes sense to do so. Needless to say with Botcon right around the corner too, you never know what might be announced!

Q: Are there any plans for an affordable Devastator figure?

A: The only plan for a combining Devastator in 2009 is the large scale version of the character. We may explore another expression of the character at a later date.

Hold up...regarding the last

Hold up...regarding the last question...I know Hasbro is going to solicit Devastator in the Horrendous-class, or whatever the f- they're calling it. That's the $100USD 6-robot version that's huge and combines, but the individual Constructicons do not transform into their robot modes.

But there IS a smaller, 7-robot combining version...and ironically, the individual 'bots DO transform into their own robot modes. It's by Takara...the EZ Collection version. Sounds like Hasbro isn't even going to try to solicit it Stateside. Odd...

I've seen people speculate

I've seen people speculate that maybe the EX collection guys don't meet U.S. safety standards, like for small parts and such?

Hasbro's actually coming out with a smaller one, that I guess is meant to go with the Fast Action Battlers, and you just lay him down on his stomach, and he looks like all the construction vehicles driving in formation. It looks a little half assed to be honest with you.

Yeah, the Fast Action

Yeah, the Fast Action Battlers look terrible as a whole. Suprisingly enough, I'm *really* entralled by the Gravity Bots. I can picture myself annoying my co-workers to no end with those! ;)

But as for the EZ Collection Devastator, do you know if it's done by a company separate from TakaTomy??? According to BBTS, it looks like "EZ Collection" is the name of the toy line, but it's still done by TakaTomy. It would be strange for them to produce a toy that wasn't up to US toy standards (since they're in bed with Hasbro).
