Holy crap, it is huge! So many things coming out right around the same time but damn....I want.
I love this Maz, but at the same time I was tweeting that I think the lights and sound are overkill. Stuff like that is just a way to raise prices. Do you honestly ever really use any kind of light up features on something like this. Beleive me I think its beautiful, but just dont care for lights and sounds...
Good lord, that's about the same price the Max Gokin Big O went for! It seems they're trying to replicate the kind of inner mechanics in Bandai's perfect grade line of Gundam model kits, but I'm not sure that really fits with Mazinger, since it's always been a super robot show. It's still very impressive, but I don't have that kind of money kicking around, especially to spend on a Mazinger, the robot that gets a new high quality toy for it at least every two years.
Mazinger Z practically invented the cutaway drawing for giant robots. The half armored diagram is in the show's closing credits (for all 92 episodes) as well as being sprinkled throughout the series.
VF5SS-san always knows the good point! ^^
The cutaway drawing for MazingerZ was a Kazuki Miyatake's early famous work!
That dramatically impelled the Japan's toy market, for giant robots.
(Already, there were toys of "Astro Boy" and "Tetsujin 28-go" around 1963-64 which featured inside-mechanics, so toy manufacturers already saw cartoons as one of good marketing tools).
BTW, Miyatake has been actively working for many fields, such as super-robot designs both anime and games, art setting like Sacktrager in Turn-A Gundam, designing "wan-daba"(ah! I don't know how to say in English).... whatever.
Man that is awesome, but GREAT SCOTT JIM! 36,750 Yen! Not my chair, not my problem! The only figure I may ever spend that kind of money on is the pending 1/6 Hot Toys Hulk.
私はまだ別のマジンガー玩具のリリースに関する重要かつユーモラスなコメントを書こうとしていた今私は私の帽子を食べる必要がありますが、私は日本語で行うべき!!! 非常にクール!
...just not sure I can afford it. A little cheaper than the Big O that came out from Max Factory. Could not afford that one either. Still, this thing is pretty much the dream toy. I completely agree with everything Go Nagai says here::http://tamashii.jp/special/mazingerZ/special_contents.html#history
OMG, just when i thought they couldn't do anything more to enhance a Mazinger Z figure they go ahead and do this. I've always wanted a hanger stand, and this thing looks HUGE.
It seems to use the exact same sculpt and articulation of the Super robot chogokin figure, to be honest im not as fond of the SRC head sculpt as i am of the SOC GX-01R. For some reason the GX-01R feels for cartoon accurate with the head sculpt. Then again who am i to complain, its a Mazinger Z with loads of die cast lights and inner details !!.
PS: Josh and Adam, this seems like a perfect time to whip out that Mazinger Z special for blind box :D

Guess I know what I'm getting this xmas
If it was Great Mazinga I'd get it. I'll have to wait and see if they make a Great version. It's a pretty amazing toy.
36000 yen. That price is insanity even Sparta can't handle.
this is a work of art, pretty tired of getting all this new chogokins with tons of plastic
