7 comments postedI'm pretty sure that is not 1/6 scale, if it was it would be about 15 meters tall. This release is somewhat interesting since I believe this is the first time Real Action Heroes has done a mech design, though I could be wrong. I like the way the arm bends and keeps a natural feel, but the problem is the Robot Damashii already did the proportions so well there's little visible difference between the Robot Damashii and this. I doubt many people will buy this, even if is a few times the Robot Damashii's size. Being a complete sucker for Evangelions, I probably will though.
It looks so good that I may actually get one (not an Evangelion fan). As far a Medicom RAH, they have made:
Mazinger Z
Great Mazinger
Black Mazinger Z Limited Edition
Mazinger Z Power Up Kit (Mail Exclusive)
Grendizer
Getter Robo 1
Getter Robo 1 Training Color
Gaiking
Devilman
and a couple of Godzillas - maybe a Gamera too... ;D
Anywho, they have made quite a few robots already. I thought the Medicom RAH line was dead. This EVA-01 is a nice surprise... :)

The head sculpt on this looks awesome so far. The unit overall seems a bit slimmer than I remember, but it looks really nice overall.
Might add this to my modest Unit 1 collection depending on when on how much.
It's design is based on how it appears in the ongoing Rebuild movies, where it was significantly slimmer than the original design.
Mmmmm... I don't think the EVAs have changed that much compared to their TV counterparts beyond decorations and a minor modification to Unit-02's forehead armor. Maybe they have fleshed out some details that were too expensive for the show's budget on a regular basis (ex: bicep labels, forearm blades), but I don't think anything really significant has been done to them. Besides, most of the visual changes have been in media and pre-production artwork years before Rebuild even happened and officially were already there.
To me they look significantly lankier than the original designs. Just compare the scenes of the Evas running to try and stop the angel that was a living bomb, Sahaquiel, between the TV series and Rebuild. All the Eva's proportions are much different in the latter, you can especially tell the difference when they're kneeling.
I agree- calling this 1/6-scale is ridiculous because these stand far taller than your average Gundam (18m/60ft). I'd call it 12" and be done with.
This looks really great, and I think I want one. The arms, though, are kinda thin and scrawny proportionately.
