Teehee

I love that anyone who looks at the Dai-Guard would assume it's a Super Robot when it's actually one of the more plausible examples of Real Robots I've ever seen.

I've never seen this robo

I've never seen this robo before, but... THIS is your definition of a real robot design??? O_o;

It's incredibly real - it's

It's incredibly real - it's basically a publicity stunt mecha that throughout the series they have to slowly convert into something useful. It's hard to explain if you've never seen the show.

I know what you mean.

The design is all super robot but, yeah, like Rankarana said, it is ALL real: It take three people to control it, it's armor and strength are limited and since it's non-military it has NO offenseive weapons... no lasers, missles, not even a rocket punch. It LOOKS more awesome than it fights, but the show is still cool!

This makes me wanna rewatch

This makes me wanna rewatch Dai Guard again. Really glad this show is getting some love. Also, yeah this really is a pretty crappy robot.

I loved this show, but how big is he?

I loved "Dai Guard". The whole Super Robot look with more realistic tech was a winning combo for me. They even have mini electric fans in the cockpits to keep the pilots cool (lol). -This makes me want to watch the show again!

My only problem is the size. I would have loved him to be the size of my Bandai "Big O" but I think the Super Robot series is much smaller.

Do we have the dimensions of this guy?

Well...

If the other SRC figures serve as a solid indication, which they seem to when compared to one another, Dai-Guard should be about 6" at the top of his head, not counting his antennae. The same head-height as an SH Figuart if you have one of them.

Thanks. I hope at least everything is included

Felixman,

Thanks. 6"is not that big but it does contain diecaste and I hopefully good articulation. I hope at the very least, all the accessories shown are included. I saw something about a bonus pack. I know how hard it was for me to get the bonus pack for my Big O, things which should have been included in the first place.

I hope it gets some good reviews because there are no other Dai Guard figures out.

Seconded!

I like Dai-Guard and am eager to get this figure... though, to be fair, not as hyped as I am for GaoGaiGar.

I have most of the SRC line released up to now and they are all durable, posable, well balanced and lovely to look at in my opinion. I can't speak to your personal tastes, but I think there's a very good chance you'll be at least satisfied with this item if you decide to get one. Since I can't afford the SOC Big O, I sadly can't compare SRC's to it for you with anything approaching credibility.

CURSE MY LIMITED INCOME! >_<

I feel you on the limited funds!

I too feel the pain of limited funds.

I got my SOC Big O when it was first released. I don't think I could get one now with the prices they are going for.

There is just too much cool stuff out right now so I have to be very selective.

I can't wait for a review on this guy. He should be perfect for the SRC line because he does not transform or separate into smaller pieces plus I like that one selling point of the SRC is that it is cheaper than the SOC line. Heck, I would be happy with a REVOLTECH version but the added diecaste of this one is nice.

Again I hope this comes with all the weapons because if it does not, I don't think I will really see a big savings from the SOC which were usually packed with a bunch of accessories.

A SOC version would have been sweet. So I take it Bandai is dicontinuing the SOC line?

Dai Guard is highly underrated

A show where the realities of operating a giant robot in a city, where things like budgets, insurance claims, property damage and lawsuits are just as dangerous as the foes they fight. Where between action scenes the pilots are salarymen working in an office handling mountains of paperwork. Where the pilot ends up throwing the robot's arm to simulate a rocket punch (while yelling it out) since it didn't have one installed.

Nice to see something from a great little show that is all but unknown.

I second that!

I wish more people would support this show so we can see more like it.
