Shizuoka Hobby Show 2013 - Bandai's Gundam products.
We love Gundam and so does Bandai! The Shizuoka Hobby Show is chock full of new Gundam products and featured an unveiling of the Master Grade version 3.0 of the RX-78-2 Gundam. While it is yet another Master Grade of the original Gundam, this time it capture the look of the full sized Gundam statue on display in Odaiba and incorporates advances in Gunpla construction that came from the Real Grade line. Also on the display was the HGUC kit of the massive and transformable Messala from Zeta Gundam, the Master Grade Geara Doga, the HGUC Gerbera Tetra, and the tandem Real Grade release of the RX-78GP01 Zephyranthes in both its normal and Full Verinan form.

The original 1/144 GP-01Fb Zephyranthes was my very first Gunpla back in the day. Ironically I still haven't seen "0083- Stardust Memory", but I have nostalgia for the Full Burner mod.
SD Hi-v FTW!
0083 was a great OAV. It's depressing, but a well rounded story filling the post One Year War, pre-Zeta era.
I wanna watch all of the UC era in chronological order eventually; I just conveniently started watching Gundam in the AC era(s).
meh, don't care about AGE-2.
i would like to see more pictures of the upcoming MG Strike.... would be nice to know in what ways it's different from the older kit, apart from the wings on the aile striker..
and GP-01 (and Fb- version) desperately need new MG kits
There have already been plenty of pictures and reviews posted of the Strike, and since it's about to come out there's no reason to show it here. It inherits the inner frame and general designs from the previous, Duel, Buster, and Blitz Gundams. Very little of the kit, if any, is shared from the old MG strike.
The base stand and the weapon units for the 'Perfect' Strike are recycled from the original kit.
I'm actually sort of getting off the Master Grade wagon and takeing more and more interest in RG's and HG's. I'm more excited for the two versions of the GP-01 than I was for the Destiny and deeply hope we get an RG GP-02 soon! That beast of a machine would look magnificent in this style.
I'm not happy with the RX-78 3.0. The way I see it, Real Grades are one line and Master Grades another. Master Grades should not try to mimic them and eschew anime accuracy. Not to mention there are still so many designs that need 2.0s.
The RG GP01's are coming along nicely. May pick those up.
That MG Geara Doga is looking nice, especially the inner frame. I always love it when Bandai stops for a bit to give grunt suits some love. Can we a get Jegan now, too?
Overall, the hobby show was rather disappointing to me, since Bandai was promising a "big MG kit announcement" and I was expecting something other than ANOTHER RX-78-2. Don't get me wrong, the RX-78 a fine design, but I wish Bandai would stop milking it for cash so often.
I'm staring at the RG kit while looking down the ominous task of the Perfect Grade GP-01 and I was kind of hoping Bandai would have given us a two-fer instead of two separate kits, but whatever prints more money right?
Up until this time they have not decided to redesign Sazabi. An iconic MS in it's own right.
There's tons of models that can be modified as well. Namely those from the gundam sentinel series.
I don't know if Bandai can't touch Model Grafix properties, but still....
I think the Sazabi will get the G-Dome/Version Ka. Treatment soon enough, but right now they want to flaunt the new skeletal/movable frame design with the RG/MG-v3 series.
As far as new suits are concerned, there are plenty of GM-type suits that need kits. I still want an MG Powered GM and Jegan.
