i remember watching this....

if i remember from Philippine's showing of tobikage in it's terrible english dub... yes there is more than one robot if i'm not mistakened there is like 3 unique mechs that can combine with tobikage

the main reason...

sadly i think the main reason was that the show's relative popularity was caused by super robot taisen impact/compact 2 series...
