The set is listed as:
新世紀エヴァンゲリオン-最後のシ者- Revoltech Eve set
I took that to mean it was from "end of" but I could be mistaken.

Two things about Unit-04 I just noticed: both the hands and knee guards have been repainted red; traditionally they are gray and all-silver respectively.
I'm wondering if this is just another attempt to make a quick buck by making a different set with most of the same parts and adding one variation.
We never saw what Unit-04 really looks like. The version we have come to know is a genuine repaint... For marketing purposes only, Bandai didn't want to waste money on making a new head sculpt if it was never going to appear in the show, so they just used Unit-03's head and added new colors.
It is rumor only that Units-03 and -04 look identical physically while their coloring is different.
Many people are wondering if:
1) we will finally get to see Unit-04 in "Evangelion 2.0- You Can [Not] Advance", even if it is still destroyed?
2) it will look as it does now, or with a new design like Units-05 and -06 have been confirmed to be?

Please pardon my ignorance if this has already been stated elsewhere before, but is there a particular reason why these Revoltech EVA figures are so damn...human-shaped??? I've seen the anime. A few times. The mecha were sorta hunched over/slouched...things...with long, lanky arms and whatnot. Very creepy-cool.
Like this.
These look way too humanoid. Not at all how they looked in the show. That's lame. What gives?

I'd say that alot of it has to do with posing the figures, but I agree with you that the Revy figs are nowhere near as lanky as they look in the anime.
I was thinking the exact same thing as Prometheum5. Unit-04 has nothing to do with "End" and that is all the Rebuild equipment.
And, EVA, even if it is just an attempt to make a quick buck...I'll probably still go for these, heh! I need a new Revoltech Unit-04 because mine came practically broken, and I don't think it's possible to have enough Unit-01 toys. Oh, and I want a Lance that'll be in-scale to Revoltech EVAs.
Sanjeev, you've made an interesting point too. Fun as I've found them to fiddle with, it's very difficult to pose Revoltech EVAs in such a way that they have the proper creepy-coolness going on.
Ok, found a better translation - this one calls it the "End of the System" set. Not sure what that relates to, but there you go.
