Evangelion is about- a 14yr

Evangelion is about-

  • a 14yr boy who was abandoned by his father is called upon by him to find the strength to defend humanity
  • said-boy is an emotional shut-in and has difficulty understanding others, particularly the attitudes of the two female pilots around him
  • a secret government-funded organization spending untold gobs of money for the specified purpose of defending humanity... while actually using it to artificially further the evolution of humanity to "the next level"
  • giant biotech robots that are unpredictable despite their built-in controls which are secretly made from the same material(s) as their enemies
  • getting more fan service

I shied away from the standard SOC EVAs because they are on the smallish side and had some limits on articulation that other formats had. While the SOCSpecs compensated for this in beautiful fashion, they were far more expensive and fragile.
When some of the Rebuild... EVAs come out in SOCSpec form, then I'll consider taking up the charge again.

Perhaps I was premature in my initial statement here- I'll wait and see what the figures can do before deciding to get 'em or not, but the initial claim sounds promising especially for the price-range.

Isn't this the 12th toy of

Isn't this the 12th toy of this? The now cheap SoCs and Revoltechs weren't enough for people?

I understand the fanbase of Evangelion about as much as I do its plot.
