Trust me, you don't need it as much as everybody don't need it. Just download a McCall's or Simplicity pattern for your Valk, buy some cheap fabric with the necessary measurements required from your local fabric store & get crafty. It's a lot of work but it will save us a big chunk of Otaku tax.

I don't mind paying for items I think are cool... I don't have a problem paying for the collectibles I want. And "making your own" of this is way more trouble than what it's worth.
I'm thinking that you could use this to make a few "full size"zentrons to fill out your display.
It's definitely a bummer to me as it's a piece that would inspire me to pick up some 1/60 valks. One more Yamato item that foreign collectors can never get...
Even if you can sew and managed to find a pattern, what are the chances that the pattern is a 1/60 scaled pattern? Any pattern for a Zentran pattern that you're likely to find would be one for wearing as a costume and not one scaled for a 1/60 Valk. I'd also imagine that it's not all that easy to sew a mini uniform, I'm sure that it would be a lot more difficult than sewing a human sized version due to the size/
Personally, if I were to take the time to sew my own Zentran uniform it would be one that I could wear for cosplaying. I'd probably even make a set of Valk parts to go with it, since I'd only need a head, hands, and feet it would be a whole lot easier than trying to make an entire Valk.
Patterns can be made to any scale since all you need to do is calculate the scale. Eventually you run into areas where materials affect how big or small you can take it without modification, and you also make changes based on what you need over what is called for in the original - doll clothes usually don't have pockets or lining. It's doable but I'd wager if you were the type to be able to go through with that, you'd have done it already.
As for this item, it's pretty weak that they use a zipper that's way out of scale to the cloth. 1/6 companies figured out long ago to use dummy zippers much smaller and use Velcro or hidden snaps to act as the securing device. Although it does appear they used microfiber fabric so it doesn't look like it's a burlap sack.
It's cool they're doing it, it's been something people have been making customs of varying quality over the years. I had a paper one I made back in the day for my old Takatoku. I think they would have at least made some scale people to go with it that could fit in the pockets.
Since its covering most of the valk anyway, I would prefer a simple poseable frame with Valkyrie feet and head so as not to waste a perfectly good Valkyrie figure. Thought this would be cool, but just not really digging it as much as I thought I would. I'd rather see it in person to really know how I feel about it. Seems to be very expensive

These kinds of things end up blurring the line between an action figure and a doll.
Those people who don't know anything about Macross and see your disguised VF-1 will end up thinking that, after years and years collecting toys, you finally lost your sanity.
