Deslar Warship Metal Statue

Here's some great news from Marmit today for all you chogokin, Yamato or Leiji Matsumoto fans...a diecast Deslar Warship!

This will be a limited edition (1000 first run) mail order item, on sale in December for ¥13,000. 23cm long with a display base.

Just from looking at the pictures, it looks like it's just gonna be a big chunk of metal, which is cool, but some light/sound features would have been ideal. The description says the bridge can be "stored". I assume that means it's removable? Anyway, I'm sure the release of this will of course raise hopes for other ships from the Yamato Universe. Let's hope!

It looks beautiful. I did not expect Marmit to come out with something as this, but..I suppose I will try to pick one up.

So crazy, huh? It's not totally out of place for Marmit because of their Daigokin line, but it's still kinda wild. And with Taito's (plastic) and Aoshima's (diecast) recent scifi capital ship toys, I think we're seeing a bit of a renaissance here! Very cool!

...Just waiting on a high-end Yamato from Aoshima or Marmit now...
