IRON CUTTER !!

Bandai, you've gone too far. I'm selling my house and moving to Japan and camping outside your offices so i dont have a seizure waiting for these releases.

On a more serious note, The DX preorders must be booming if the green light was lit for the iron cutter accessory and not for the Super Robot Chogokin line. When the SRC line was first announced Bandai showed pictures of prototypes for the iron cutter and arm missile affect parts as well as the great booster and additional armor for Great mazinger, but seeing as that was about 2 years ago and the DX line hasn't even been released id say its safe to say the SRC accessories will probably never see the light of day

I thought the set with the Iron Cutters, missiles parts, and extra swords for the SRC Mazingers came out... Was there another set announced?

The first accessory set only

The first accessory set only came with Mazinger Z's second iron fist, scrander and 4 rocket punch affect parts. Another accessory set was shown displaying the iron cutter, great booster, additional armor and arm missile affects but were never released. Im guessing sales for the initial SRC line wasn't so great so they canceled production on the mazinger base that was teased as well as the 2nd accessory set. you can check a picture of the set in the link below:

I hope that bandai makes more

I hope that bandai makes more super robots into dx class size. Even if he is a beloved character, there is a wealth of robot characters waiting to be immortalized.

web shop exclusive

Well now I'm kind of glad I didn't preorder this, as the scrander is not included like I thought. That really sucks that folks are not getting the scrander included for the initial price. Talk about nickle and diming your customers! Well if you're dropping the big duckets on the DX anyway I guess 8,000 yen isnt going to break the bank for you. And who would display this with the scrander anyway it looks better all dissassembled in the robot garage bay. This is going to be a real pain for those outside Japan to get ahold of, and I expect a lot of scalping on this set on Y!J when its released.

Actually, where is that Mazinger underground base for SRC?? We were shown some rough sketches years ago and nada for a long time now. Its such a similar idea display-wise that I'm surprised they never followed through.

There are actually a number

There are actually a number of reliable and easy to use places to get webex releases these days, including Big in Japan and Nippon Yasa. They are expensive and you have to pay attention to when they are going to go up for preorder, but they are not the crime against humanity that they started out as.

I know a lot of people have issues with the idea of accessories being sold separately, but there have been some cases where it works out better. I am personally not a huge fan of toys with a ton of accessories, so when a release comes along that is pared down to just the essentials for a few bucks less, with an optional pile o' parts as a webex, I am thrilled to not have to go buy the accessories and just have a lean package for my purchase. Sometimes they get what accessories to include as exclusives way wrong, like not putting the car for Big-O in with the main toy, but other times like extra armor for Macross valks makes sense, since not everyone needs that. That said, having whole Valkyries as exclusives still sucks.

Huh.

The sounds being unlocked by the Scrander makes it like, the toy equivalent of on-disc DLC.

Beautiful, but...

Very nice, but I'm not down with the Shin Mazinger style engines on it. It should've looked like the SOC GX-01R's Scrander instead. As far as the unlocking of the sounds, I'm willing to bet it is just a button on Mazinger's back that is pushed in by a peg on the Scrander. Of course, that is unless this Scrander has some electronic or even magnetic features in it, which I doubt. So, if my assumption is correct, you can still get the sounds by just pushing in that button. I ordered my DX Mazinger via BBTS, so I will not be able to test my theory yet. But I will, yes I will. ;D
