Robot Damashii Wing Gundam Updated
The original Wing Gundam makes its debut in the Robot Damashii line to accompany its older brother the Wing Zero. This figure is capable of transforming into Bird Mode and also comes with the Wing Gundam's signature Buster Rifle and an opening shield that houses a single beam saber. Comes with two types of beam blades! You even get an optional damaged head just like in the opening! This figure is coming out February 2014 for 4,800 yen.

15 comments postedI have a weird love/hate relationship with Gundam Wing. I love the designs and makes me nostalgic for Gundam's presence in US toy stores but I found the show absolutely boring and some of the worst aspects of a mecha anime.
Even by Gundam standards, Wing was an anime drowning in it's botched attempts to be deep and just ended up being confusing and sort of full of itself. Still, I would agree that there is no shame in enjoying the mechanical designs, with the Wing itself remaining one of my favorites long after I grew a taste for better written Gundam stories.
... To this day, I still have no idea why they included the Sandrock in this show. Deathscythe (Stealth assassin) and Shenlong (Close to Mid-range fighter) had the in-your-face combat covered while Wing and Heavyarms dominated at range. Wouldn't the team need a sniper or a tank more to round out mission options?
Same here. It doesn't help the fandom consists of a bunch of arrogant dicks thinking this is the best gundam ever and claiming the others are inferior kinda like a REDUNNER would be in the TF community (or at least that's what I've heard some sectors of the Gundam Wing community are that is; The hopelessly irrational ones)
It's just the nature of the audiences for everything and there's always a bias towards something outside of the comfort zone.
Wing has a stronger Western Audience since it was the first mainstream series in the US, and it introduced Gundam in such a way that make them think the only 'Good' Gundam is the one that has the biggest, most powerful weapons from the first episode, and not the war drama where a Gundam was just as breakable as a Zaku.

On the other hand, I don't think there's been a Gundam series where the main toy cash cow is 'as breakable as a Zaku', especially not the original. Literally tanking Zaku weapons from ep 1~

Other better stories aside.....Zechs Merquise is awesome and Tallgeese is one of the coolest non-traditional gundams. Of course I pretty much like anything with a roman centurion crest. The really important question is where is the 8th Mobile Suit team I am really getting sick of waiting to spend stupid amounts of money.
YES! 08th M.S. Team! My favorite Gundam show. Sure I like Gundams from all sorts of series, but for shows, the 08th MS Team is best. I hate it when a series has nothing but Gundams tearing through thousands of enemies like they were tissue paper cannon-fodder. The 08th MS Team kept the stakes high by having nothing by regular ol' soldiers duking it out by any means necessary.

Not that I have not bought all the Wing Leos and Aries and space Leos and HeavyArms. Don't judge me damn it.
I wish they continue with the Gundam F91 line they started with. I want a RD Berga Giros! They did show off a proto for a Vigna Ghina (hilarious name BTW).
I'm down for some more Cannon Fodder Mobile Suits period!
Bandai's really jumping all over the place with the RD series as they are with the Gunpla.
Right now they're going into Wing with the G-Unit series as well as the TV models and X, and spanning ahead of the Universal Century with Crossbones so I'm sure it's only a matter of time before they come back to the Ground War and the V-Ghina. (..yeah that name gets soooo hilariously wrong so fast!)
