UPDATED IMAGES Chogokin Cho-gattai King Robot Mickey & Friends
Well, this happened.
In advance of Tamashii Nations 2012 opening on 10.26.2012 in Akihabara, Bandai released a press release announcing the “Chogokin Cho-gattai King Robot Mickey & Friends” (超合金 超合体キングロボ ミッキー&フレンズ)
I thought it was a joke at first, but this is a real thing. This giant chogokin Disney combiner will be available March 2013 for 13,440 Yen.
This is not entirely without precedent. Disney and Bandai have collaborated on Chogokin before, with the Chogokin Buzz Lightyear and the Chogokin Drossel figures.
Included in the set are the following characters:
- Mickey Mouse - Mickey Jet (ジェットミッキー)
- Minnie Mouse - Sky Minnie (スカイミニー)
- Donald Duck - Donald Diver (ダイバードナルド)
- Daisy Duck - Aqua Daisy (アクアデイジー)
- Goofy - Goofy Land (ランドグーフィー)
- Pluto & his kennel - Dash Pluto & "Inugoya" (ダッシュプルート&イヌゴヤ)
- Steamboat Willie - Ace Willie (エースウィリー)
The official press release is attached, and you can learn more at the official Tamashii Nations webpage

11 comments postedI... want this? Umm... yeah, I could go for one of these. I'm in need of a complex triple changer gestalt lately.
I don't see him in the combiner, but they're including Steamboat Willie??? I wonder if that's a typo, since I know Disney has been trying really hard to integrate Oswald the Rabbit into the classic line of characters since they got the rights to use him back a few years ago...
Robo Goofy and Pluto (and his dog house) form the legs. Robo Donald and Daisy form the arms. Robo Mickey and Minnie form the torso. And Steamboat Willie forms the head.

Ohhhhhh- it's just the boat, not Mickey himself. Got it.
Steamboat Willie forms the head.
Whoops, got beat to it lol. Really cool piece actually, would like to see more.
This looks better than most official sentai combiners in the past couple of years.
Seconded!
Disney characters...Bandai engineering...argh, I guess I have to get this. Though, I'd be lying if I said wouldn't rather this be a bootleg.
I am shocked to admit it.
But it is this amazing Sentai-Style Combiner and I don't know why I like it so much.
My daughter will love it. MUST HAVE.
Bandai is going to make a ton of money on this one.
Time for girls to start collecting robots.
What's next for you boys? Combat ready Bratz?
Looks surprisingly cool! I'm definately thinking about getting one.
