Engine Sentai Go-Onger G12

A lot of people have commented on the mess that is modern sentai. No where is this more evident in the Go-Onger Engine G12. While the combined toys look like a jumble of parts, Bandai manages to make the combinations look OK when putting out non-transforming versions.

This G12 looks to be non transforming with some kind of action gimmick. Looks like Engines may shoot from the legs?

Anyway, Go-Onger G12 Set, 5,040 yen, 11/08

A special color diecast (chogokin) engine speedor will be included that can be shot from the body.

I cannot possibly believe

I cannot possibly believe that Bandai of Japan is getting into the action figures game that Bandai of America has been playing poorly all these years! Do they realize that most of those figures sit on the shelves long after each series ends...?

Couple years ago, in 2006, BoJ released three 4" figures from "Boukenger" that could merge with their respective first Gougou Vehicle in a sort of Battlizer-inspired armor upgrade. While this obviously did not appear in the series due to the scale differences, it was very striking that BoJ did that at all- it was very excessive compared to all past lines where everything they marketed appeared specifically in the series and not as so many exclusives on the shelves. (Of course, BoA greedily re-released the figures the next year with slightly lower paint apps, and then made a whole bunch of them in different colors to cover the spectrum of Rangers from that year...)
