CollectionDX is in the house! SDCC 09!
Greetings from the 40th annual San Diego Comic Con!
We will be bringing you coverage over the next coming week.
Opening preview night was a complete free for all, unlike last years, where photo ops where plentiful. It was just so crowded, first of all, there is 150,000 more people than last years and secondly, exhibitors where allowed to sell the exclusives on preview night. Which basically means lots of people and very long lines. Even with all the hoopla, I was able to snap a few quick shots of some of the goodies that we will be bringing you coverage on. So hold tight and enjoy the picks!
Super 7's Stormtrooper jumbo!
A few shots at the Toynami/Tamashii Nations booth
As you can see, Voltron is huge this year, check out the 6' tall Voltron
And of course Toynami has continued their collaboration with Aoshima, showing Aoshima's version of the Beta
Toynami's upcoming Shadow Alpha and Beta combo
Some of Toynami's 1/100 scale Valkyries and they are still showing the prototype battle pod.
A few of Tamashii Nation's upcoming products including a chogokin Apollo 11 rocket!
Life size Bumblebee over at the Hasbro booth, more on this later...

I know the Betas have been fairly heavily praised, but I wanted to wait for the green version to come out before getting my own. I'm glad to see it's finally happening!
Now maybe I can find someone to hire me so I can actually afford all this?
I need the metallic Voltron Vinyl!!
And is that the giant 1/35 Gundam figure, or what? (It would have been Jumbo sized if it were the 1/35 one).
Is that tekkaman for sale now!?
BLACK VOLTRON
Soft vinyl throughout.
ROBOTECH - BETAS
Luckily, I bought the Aoshima versions of the Alphas. Better boxes and better toys. Now I'll buy the Betas.
That is the Gundam Fix Figuration 1/35 Scale Gundam issued to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the mighty white knight.
On sale very soon!
Is Super7 ever planning to actually sell that stormtrooper jumbo? Last I heard, it was due out in March, and that was after a proposed Christmas release. It's late July now and they still aren't even offering pre-orders. I'm starting to believe it's just something they display at conventions and have no intention of ever manufacturing. It's a shame because I'd really like to get one, although I'm a bit puzzled they went with a stormtrooper instead of a more iconic SW icon like Darth Vader or Boba Fett first, Again, that's assuming they ever intend to make it available for purchase.

Last I heard, it's been pushed back to the '09 holiday season. I wish I could say exactly what is causing these delays, but there it is...
It's definitely coming and I'm definitely getting one. I just hope these delays aren't going to hurt its chances for success too much. What started as a lot of positive buzz online from the released prototype pic early on has begun to disintegrate into a lot of complaining online more recently. The delays and latest sculpt changes aren't helping.
I'd love to see this thing sell out quick and justify a Vader and Fett...

... I filmed Brian's Presentation about this very subject while at the Koto booth. =) That will go up early next week and all your questions will be answered. I promise.

Cool. Thanks, man. Kind of reminds me of the abandoned Southern Cross robo-sengoku concept.
