BIG Macross news from Yamato

The Macross Akiba Event will be held 2/22/09 at The Akiba Square located within the Akihabara UDX Building.

Yamato will be present, and rumors are flying.

One rumor is that Yamato will announce a new series of "Huge Mechanical Goods". Rumor flying around that it includes an SDF-1

At the venue will be the sale of the following goods:

1/1 scale Macross Fighter pilot helmet - 41790 Yen

Giant Salamander Phone (Ranka's Phone) - 1050 Yen

1/60 Destroid Tomahawk Weathering Ver. - 12,600 Yen

1/48 VF-1S Weathering ver. - 18,690 Yen

Also on sale at the event will be a vareity of shirts, patches and other goodies.

I wonder if that's an actual full-spec motorcycle helmet? That would be awfully cool. They could include bluetooth plus headphones (hell, given how big that bastard is, you could just cram the whole phone in there!)

I wonder if the salamander phone actually farts when you squeeze it?

The helmet doesn't even look like it fits on a human head.
