So in a nutshell I really know nothing about the whole designer toy thing but I know cool when I see it and what Super 7 has coming at years end is pretty wicked. A Jumbo Machinder Stormtrooper, officially licensed by Lucasfilm.

Here are the facts...

Firing Fist.

Wheels on the bottom of the feet.

Foil stickers will be included in the box for die-hard Jumbo fans

Run quantity is still undecided

As of this article pricing is still to be determined but will probably be between $300 and $350

If this does well enough there will be a Darth Vader and Boba Fett at some point in the future. :)

Embedded below is Brian's entire presentation at the Kotobukiya booth. He wants me to preface this by saying he was A) Very nervous and B) Not used to speaking in front of people. For the record I thought he did fine. The presentation was informative AND entertaining. But enough of me, here's the man himself in his own words.

So there you have it. I think Super 7 may want to consider another one of these bad boys sold. I'm in, in a big way. I think they may very well be cooking up one of the most unique SW collectibles to ever come down the pipeline.

Like I said I don't know a thing about the designer toy scene but Super 7 had lot's on display.

Be sure to head over to the Gallery and take a peek at all Super 7 had to offer at this years Comic Con.

For the record, Brian won all sorts of cool-kid points with me for having his very own Condorman on display in their case. A Japanese Super Hero character I watched back in the day with my Dad in Hawaii.

Each 5" tall crystal clear vinyl Zombie figure comes with three sets of paper 'guts' inserts, to cut out and display inside the figure, designed by Super7 Head Honcho Brian Flynn, Super7's Josh Herbolsheimer, and fan-favorite and S7 collaborator L'Amour Supreme.

The 'Got Guts?' Zombie will be offered for sale at $50, Saturday June 27th, 11am Pacific at the Super7 Store and online.

Mummy Boy is back, cute as ever, but this time he is showing a bit of his sinister side as well. This version of the Super7 Mascot is dressed head to toe in the colors of one of his (and ours) favorite villains of yesteryear. But never fear, even though he may try to look like a bad guy, he wouldn't hurt a fly.

Dokuwashi is another SDCC 2008 acquisition (see how backed up I am?) created by Brian Flynn for his company, Super7. Brian also co-authored the Tokyo Underground book with me.

I like Super7 stuff, but some of it is just not for me. I don't really dig what they call "fight figures" but I love original kaiju, and when Brian puts his mind to it, he makes some great designs.

Dokuwashi is part of Super7's "Ghost Land" line of mini vinyl figures, but he is anything but a mini at nine inches tall. According the the flyer that comes with the Ghost Land trading figures, Dokuwashi is "is the door that all spirits must pass through to enter Ghost Land".

Like most vinyl, there are several different versions, or "colorways" of this sculpt, and this is the mandatory glow version.

Surprisingly, this toy actually has some articulation. The arms and head move, but that's it.

The sculpt is nice and tight, and the texture of the body feels good in the hand. The figure has nice little details, such as the tiny feet hidden underneath.

Dokuwashi is sprayed with Green, pink, gold and blue paint applications - colors similar to Bullmark Hawaii versions from back in the day.

Glow works good, maybe not as vibrant as others, but still strong in its own right. However, put it under a black light and it just looks stellar...

Big news from Super7 yesterday as the final sculpt of the Jumbo Machinder-style Stormtrooper was revealed. The toy is set to be 24" tall with a polyethylene body and soft vinyl head. One fist will shoot and there is expected to be wheels on the bottom of the feet. The fist that does not shoot will hold a classic Stormtrooper blaster. Unfortunately, that blaster will not shoot missiles as was initially discussed.

Image below shows original prototype on the left and final on the right. Thanks for the pic, Sanjeev!

A year after being formally announced at San Diego Comic Con 2008, the toy is expected to be ready for sale starting at SDCC 2009. No official price has been announced, but initial talk expected a price in the $300-350 range.

:

Super7's Pink Death Zombeard!!!

Super7 is happy (or terrified?) to announce the Pink Death Zombeard!!

Another member of the Snakes of Infinity's Zombie army is stepping out of the shadows, unleashed on an unsuspecting populace! Eye witness reports of early attacks were sketchy at best, ranging from descriptions of whirling pink tornadoes to huge furry pink bears. A janitor working the graveyard shift even reported being attacked by a pink mop. The one thing all witnesses agreed on was the blazing bright pink.

The Pink Death Zombeard is 5" tall, and cast in black vinyl with a clear pink vinyl beard-head, with black, white, red and pink spray, and will be offered for sale at $50, Saturday, December 13th, 11am Pacific at the Super7 Store and online.
