New Lego Macross VF-1S Cuusoo Project

Posted: 9 May, 2013 - 16:30

Hi all,

Please let me first introduce myself since I am new to the forums! One of my most favorite things as a child was the animation called Robotech (originally known as Macross)!

The only Robotech/Macross related toys I had was a G1 Transformers Jetfire and a Matchbox SDF-1. I never had all the toys when I was a kid, so naturally when I got older I started buying the ones I never had and always wanted:)

Anyway, I recently got into building stuff with Lego, and I wanted to share it with you all and hopefully get some suppport!

A lot of you may already know what Lego Cuusoo is all about. It is an official Lego website where you can share your product ideas with the world. If you are able to gather 10,000 support/votes for your project then it hasa chance to become a real Lego set!.

I managed to create a fully transformable Macross VF-1S Valkyrie toy/action figure using 100% existing LEGO pieces:

I know this isn't the first ever LEGO Valkyrie, and I know of the existing project on Cuusoo that already has 6k+ support (which I am also supporting :)).

I feel that my design is a lot closer to the actual toys that were released as part of the original Macross toy line. I've based this model on the old 1/55 (Chunky Monkey) Valkyries.

My Lego VF-1S compared with Bandai 1/55 VF-1S re-issue.

Fighter Mode

Gerwalk Mode w/ Fast Packs

Battroid Mode

FInally, check out a video I made of this models transformation sequence!:

I'm currently only at 82 support right now, but I will not give up hope lol. I am constantly working on improving this LEGO creation and I am already working on GBP-1S Armor for it.

Anyway thanks so much for taking the time to read my post. Any feedback or suggestions is much appreciated! If you like my project, then please vote for it on Lego Cuusoo and share with link with other collectors or fans!

More photos of my project can be found on my Flickr photostream.
