The Worst Toy Ever

So I just had my second Yamato 1/72 VF-11B break apart in my hands after removing it from its box. I know that the hips are terrible on these. I am well aware that one should never even look in the direction of a 1/72 thunderbolt, let alone buy and handle one. I am stupid and have learned my lesson. This is officially my least favorite toy ever*. What is the crappiest toy you've owned?

*second place is the 1901 steampunk Maz by Fewture, whose sticky pvc joints broke off while posing out of the box

I almost bought that. What

I almost bought that. What makes it suck? Is it just a big chunk of sticky pvc?

It's a big hunk of useless

It's a big hunk of useless and brittle plastic. It's really not worth the effort.

HCM Pro Hambrabi. Leg joints

HCM Pro Hambrabi. Leg joints loose out of the box, can't hold any of its' signature weapons, shoulderpads fall off way too often for where they're located, eye mechanism didn't hold in place, etc. Frankly, it wasn't awful, but that's because I generally buy stuff with a lot of QC put in.

I posted this back in '06 on

I posted this back in '06 on TBDX in a "worst purchase" thread, but hands down, the worst for me was the Henshin Cyborg reissue with the Mazinger Z costume...

I'll recap my experience here:
Henshin Cyborg Mazinger Z. Hey, I like Henshin Cyborg. I like Mazinger. Why wouldn't I want a Henshin Cyborg reissue dressed up like Maz?? I think I kept it for 3 days before throwing it out.

First off, ALL the joints on the reissue cyborg body were floppy as hell. Even the vintage Cyborg A seen in Super #1 Robot (yes, I have that actual toy featured in the book!) is tight as a drum and about a hundred times more play-with-able. But y'know what's even worse than a floppy figure? The wretched stench of the oozing melt-before-your-eyes Maz costume. Seriously. The head/pilder was ridiculous...it was all greasy to the touch...and--oooooh--the smell! I washed the bits thoroughly in warm soapy water. The next day, they were greasy and reeky again. Oh, and finally, the Maz costume bits *barely* fit on...even after heating them up with a blow dryer.

Please, if you're a HC fan, stick with the more solid vintage figures and avoid this garbage.

Oh, and of course...possibly

Oh, and of course...possibly the Worst Toy Purchase Experience in history is probably the now-famous eBay Gardian chronicled on TBDX! Can't forget that one! Always great for a laugh!

Mine is fine

To be completely fair here, I must post my HC-Mazinger-Z experience as trouble free. The costume is dry to the touch with no noticeably offensive odor. The joints on mine hold acceptable poses- albeit I don't touch the toy very often.

I really do like the one I received as well as the Devilman version I also own.

This kinda reminds me of the hit and miss QC on the Palisades Micronaut re-issues. I got some really good ones and a few broken still sealed on the card.

Since I tend to collect

Since I tend to collect rather simple toys for the most part, I tend to not have too many problems with the stuff I buy. I'm very rarely truly disappointed. But, man, I'm still not happy with this....

A bootleg Consructicon set

A bootleg Consructicon set that I bought on a drunken whim. It fell apart before I could get it to combine even once... never again.

If we're talking official toys then either Universe Glavatron or Ironhide, I think I hate Ironhide a little more.

Re: Beast Machines Blastcharge

Baratazaru (aka Thew) on YouTube reviewed Blastcharge a few weeks ago.

(Ever since VF5SS introduced me to his reviews, I can't get enough of them!)

Even though I LOVED Beast Wars, I couldn't stand Beast Machines (except for maybe Tankor).
