MMPR-1/-3 carrier zord was

MMPR-1/-3 carrier zord was Titanus (a brachiosaurus)
MMPR-2 carrier Zord was Tor the Shuttle Zord, which was a turtle.

Only "GoRanger" (1975-77) and "JAKQ" (1977) did not have giant robos. They used a variety of super vehicles only. When "JAKQ" got canceled in 1977 (low ratings!), "Spider-Man" (1977-78) took its place, and introduced the giant transforming robo concept. This was popular enough that "Battle Fever J" (1979) then introduced the Battle Fever Robo to Super Sentai even though it couldn't transform.
"Denziman" (1980) had the first transforming robo in SS even though it did not have separate components.

I could go on all day... =)

Tor

OMG! Tor is what I was thinking of! I mean, Titanus as well, but Tor was what I was specifically thinking of!

And yeah, I think we figured out the Mech thing at the end
