Podcast Sentai Power Rangers: Episode 16

No, this was nowhere near as bad as the CarRanger episode. Yeah it was painful at a few points, but things like Jealoushitto-whatever-he's-called faking his death, and Sen-den ordering the Goromins(sp?) to standby during the family meeting kinda took the curse out of it; at least this time they made fun of themselves and completely broke mold.

Yeah, this was a rather empty Gokaiger Ep, and a lot of the humor got lost on me. There was way too much flash here- all these power-ups and mecha combos for such a lame monster just wasn't worth it, I don't care if it was a filler episode or not.

I agree that they have GOT to be intro-ing a 7th ranger here soon, just because were almost at the 2/3-point of the series, and we got GokaiSilver soooooooo damn early. (Any rumors that Basco might be the 7th, or will we get another random Gai-like character again?)
I haven't heard anything about The Movie's evil repaint of Gokai-Oh, if there will be one, but I might get it.

Wait, are you guys covering three shows at the same time now- PRSamurai, Gokaiger, and now Boukenger???

Zubaan's energy was derived from the positive feelings of humans around him. And so when humans nearby are angry or sad, it affects Zubaan accordingly. That's why he was nice to the children who had gathered around him in that one episode, and that was crucial to the Boukenger figuring out how he worked.

DaiTanken officially appeared in "...Boukenger: The Movie- The Greatest Precious" first, a few weeks before it appeared ONLY TWO TIMES in the series... even though it had always been capable of being formed beforehand. (Unlike DaiBouken & Co., DaiTanken has an energy-regulation issue- much like Gougou Drill initially had- which made it prone to easily overloading. That's why it wasn't used beforehand. Yeah, w/e...)

The Questors were sooooo bad ass of the four Negative Syndicates, they were my favorite. They were out to simply destroy the world and create chaos.

Voyager DaiBouken FAIL. Super Riding Adventure Drive EPIC FAIL.

BTW, Ryuuon's head was based on the Daijyujin (MMPR-1 Megazord)'s head.

They went helmet-less in MagiRanger's second-to-last battle as well.

The ending where Gougou Voyager goes into space was L-A-M-E! Boukenger was good for the most part, but it ended kinda flat and became a bit mindless.

Why didn't they make Burning DaiVoyager accessory set? I would totally have bought it at the time even though it was really lame.

@1:20:41 Yeah, running a bit too long even for me, I started spacing out when you were talking Geki VS Bouken. Coulda saved discussing the Boukenger movies for the next podcast IMO.

Could the six Boukenger be comparable to the Gokaiger, in that they're kinda self-centered in their motives for being on their respective teams? While the Gokaiger are reluctant heroes with a common cause (hunting for the Greatest Preci- Treasure In The Universe), the Boukenger are there for different reasons and 'get-off' on thrill-seeking. Am I crazy for just thinking of that?

Say, I just had a thought:

Other than the singles recorded by other artists (namely the opening and closing themes), what are your opinions on the OSTs for Super Sentai? So far, I found the Boukenger score to be pretty varied and solid (mostly because I have a digital copy of only the first CD), and MagiRanger seemed to substitute the typical heavy rock guitar-stuff for more orchestral themes (which I'd like to get a copy of).

Am I the only one who even cares about the OSTs for Super Sentai?

You have us mistaken. We loved the Carranger episode!

We got GokaiSilver the exact same time as every other season for the past few years has gotten their sixth. Episode 16-18 is the norm and we got him on 17 and really on 18.
