[UPDATED 11/17/09] Potential interview with "Kamen Rider" star!
On Sept. 10th, our Imperious Leader got an e-mail from an agent who represents actor Matt Mullins, aka Len/Kamen Rider Wing Knight from the current 2009 TV series, "Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight"! Being the only guy who seems to be regularly watching, and promoting, KR:DK on CDX (speak up people, c'mon!), I was asked to conduct the interview.
I have contacted the agent, telling him that I would be thrilled to speak with someone from the show.
However... I have never conducted an interview before! Writing out text, takin' pics, and shooting vid is okay, but this is a whole other ballgame. So, I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to conduct this interview, and what kinds of questions I should ask.
So, I'm putting this out to you CDXers to help me out a little, and get your own say in as well. If you are a KR:DK fan, and would like a question asked during the interview, please post it here, and I will do my best to get it in the open for you.
Again, all of this is in preliminary stages only- contact has only been established a few hours ago, and it may be a little before we get this to happen.
This is great news, folks! CDX has reached the ears of Hollywood itself now. Are we rockin' it now or what!?

It was decided that Josh will be conducting the interview, and I will be giving him the questions to field to Matt Mullins ahead of time. Since the interview will be made over the phone, Josh is planning to use Skype to record the conversation, and then we will transcribe it for all of you when we post the interview!
I have yet to receive an exact date from Josh, but I will keep you up-to-date as much as possible!
In the mean time, this is your last chance to post any questions you may have for Matt about his career in martial arts, and/or in his co-star role as Len/Kamen Rider Wing Knight. Post them in the comments below, and Josh and I will go over them before we field them in the interview. Hurry- there's not much time left!

Okay, folks: a date for the interview has been nailed down for this Friday, November 20th, 2009. You have until Thursday to get your questions in; that gives you 3 days including today!

15 comments postedI like the program, but I'm not sure about the toys. They're good for kids anyhow. Here are some questions I would ask:
Were you familiar with Kamen Rider prior to this show?
How did you prepare for the role?
Were there any "Spinal Taps" during filming?
You're gonna have to tell me what you mean by "Spinal Taps", because I have no clue what that is... he might not either.

During the era of glam metal which the movie "This is Spinal Tap" lampoons, it was common in magazines like Circus, Hit Parader, and RIP for interviewers to ask the bands "Were there any Spinal Taps?" during tour, recording, filming, whatever. This was jargon for any humorous episode that occurred and may be of interest to fans.
I typically log on and post these cryptic phrases late at night, after hours, so please take them with a grain of salt.
In fact, please DON'T ask if there were any Spinal Taps because with a show like "Dragon Knight" the chances are nothing funny is going to happen if you don't properly execute that back flip off the scaffolding.
Oh.
...yet another internet jargon-phrase I was unaware of. (*sigh*)
Don't worry- I already asked if there were any light moments- intentional or otherwise- on-set.

I watched an episode of this, and I thought it was stupid. They should have just dubbed the real show, and not have this Power Ranger B.S.
There was a recent episode, "Semper Fi", that was pretty dramatic. Granted you needed to see a few of the earlier ones to understand everything, but it's an interesting episode.
Sometimes with KR:DK, you have to take it with a grain of salt. (I do too. It's not the greatest I've ever seen, but it is competent with itself.) Don't compare it to "...Ryuki", or you're bound to dislike it more from the differences, and that's not how it's supposed to be viewed. Also, don't view it as a kid's show. The producers made it in a way that can be appreciated by older viewers, if you can find it, since Kamen Rider is a darker franchise that Super Sentai/Power Rangers.
Think "Disney before it became overtly kid-friendly and sterilized".

My kids love the show, I'll ask them if they have any questions.
If not the Ryuki footage used, would you still consider to do the series? i.e. Kamen Rider 555 or Kamen Rider Blade
You mean: would he be willing to reappear in another show, or would he have preferred to be in another show other than KR:DK?

If they didn't use Ryuuki would he still be on deck if they used let's say 555 or Blade instead
Okay, folks- it's crunch time. The interview has been confirmed!
Get your questions in now while you can, because it will be happening in the next two weeks-or-so! This is a one-chance shot, so make 'em count!
Ask anything, but they will be filtered through both me and Josh first before we ask them.
I will post the exact date that it will happen when we find out.

I would ask him if he does all the fighting and wire work by himself, and how demanding is to do all this action stuff on a TV budget
Just have fun with the whole experience. I'm looking forward to it.
