So first off, check out the latest page of Golden Gate Riot and oh yeah, please buy a copy in the store and tell your friends about it. I have only sold 10 copies of GGR so my self-esteem is kinda low, dudes.
In other news, I ordered copies of both S.F. #1 and S.F. Supplementary File #1 by Ryan Cecil Smith recently and was really jazzed from the moment I got the package. Getting an envelope marked SECRET FILE in the mail gave me a secret nerdy thrill.
I know I promised a blog post of more substance, but instead I spent hours trying to get several different store plugins working until I finally gave up. Turns out a Paypal button is simple and easy, so I ended up going with that!
In other news, I totally failed at 24 Hour Comics Day since I was still totally exhausted from APE 2012, but I drew three and a half pages before I passed out. Failure! Here's the pages of my unfinished comic Squidpunk.
Hey folks! As you've come to expect, we have a new page of Golden Gate Riot up this week with stellar art from Jeik and superlative letters from Star and writin' by myself! Enjoy!
I know I said it last week, but please come out to see us at Alternative Press Expo in San Francisco October 13th and 14th at 635 8th Street. We'll be booth 849!
Another comic celebration is coming up! It's 24 Hour Comics Day 2012! Every year, people sit down and do an insane marathon. They create a 24 page comic from scratch all within a 24 hour period. This year it takes place on October 20, 2012.
Also, if you live in the San Francisco Bay Area or will be in the San Francisco Bay Area the weekend of October 13-14, you should come down to Alternative Press Expoand see me! The con is at The Concourse, 635 8th Street, San Francisco.
Right on time we have a new page of Golden Gate Riot! This page features some homemade tattoos. This was kind of inspired by a couple of things. First off, when I was in junior high school, I was, of course, a nerd and a misfit and an outsider. So naturally I ended up hanging out with other outcasts. One such outcast was a scruffy dude with long curly hair, a camouflage jacket, and zero respect for our science teacher. I used to read Robotech novels in class while trying to ignore the people around me and it turned out that he was a Battletech nerd. We bonded over our shared love for the Super Nintendo MechWarrior game. I have to admit I can't remember his name, but I do remember when he showed me how to make a homemade tattoo. He swiped a bottle of India ink from art class and a needle from home ec. He told me he took home ec because all the hot girls were there.
