Destroy All Podcasts DX Special Report - San Jose Super Toy Record & Comic Show Mar. 20 '10

Hosts: Jeremy, Mike
This is about about Jeremy and Mike's shopping adventure at the sleazy fairgrounds in San Jose with lots of lots of amputee Starscreams! Everything was covered in a layer of grime.
This is a brief departure from our ongoing Gainax theme (and a brief podcast) because it's rapidly growing out of date and because I had a funeral and a wedding to attend over the weekend. Hopefully the copious pictures will make up for the short running time! We will return to Gainax for our next podcast.
Oh yeah, and I happened to pick up the Kingdam 3-in-1 bootleg of Dia Battles at the toy show just before chachipower's review!

More pictures of the robot toys we got at the show after the cut.
The white ranger surveys his kingdom.

Remember these toys?

Just in time for his recent death and the chick who played opposite him in a music trolling toy shows, it's Michael Jackson, Superstar of the '80s!

I totally had the Fisher Price barn when I was a kid. Yes, that is my hand rudely reaching for it.

Davros not only creates horrible Dalek killing machines, he also bakes cookies!

I'm very serious about my Bill & Ted cereal. (Not only did I eat this when I was a kid, I still have the plastic Bill & Ted casette tape holder pictured here shrinkwrapped to the box.)

Alf, Teddy, and his horrible worm friend.
And now, toy show swag!

The many features of Mike's surprisingly large Star Wars brand iBlackbird.

Toy show GoBots!

A 1/100 scale VF-1A Valkyrie by Bandai from Macross: Do You Remember Love? in the '80s.

And finally, the completed Voltron, pulled together from two less than satisfactory models. Total cost including both Voltron junkers? $25. $25 well spent.

That's okay sir, I understand your circumstances. I thank you for your sincerity though. It gives us confidence yes, but you're easily forgiven anyway b/c I'm a sucker for potty-mouthed bandits.

I had the Little People house and the barn when I was a kid (the two on the right in that photo). I'm irritated that my parents got rid of them. They were cool toys, far better than what they make now. I may have had the school too (the one on the rear left-hand side) but it also could have been my neighbor's. We had a lot of toys that were complementary like that. If I didn't have something, she usually did.
Hey, are you guys ever going to release Side B of show of episode 130?
Yeah, Side B of 130 will be coming out once the Gainax stuff is done. I was trying not to interrupt the theme.
